Got to 12 wins (which is very rare for me) with mage in arena. It wasn't the most impressive draft, but I had Onyxia into Stormwind Champion win me a few games. No flamestrikes, no water elemental, just one fireball/frostbolt/flamecannon, but I had a decent curve and didn't have many dead turns...

I don't play paladin though since I don't have many of the other cards needed (like Tirion for starters), so Bolvar gets to just hang out in my collection and look dapper.

I'll keep an eye out for those. Out of curiosity (don't know the build) do you use both arc and tendrils? I used tendrils until about level 35 for leveling and it was very good for that, but it seems to me that at high levels arc and tendrils would sort of fill the same role (as in spread damage).

I think hunters are favored in that match up. The warlock can't afford to get as low on health or tap as much as they'd like since they'll get shot in the face continually and the threat of a sudden 10 damage from Kill Command.

If you play well enough to get to 7+ wins (I don't), you should probably chain some arenas the next days and through the weekend until you run out of people drafting ALL the mechs.

Mages as popular as ever in arena, met Mage, Mage, Mage, Shaman, Mage, Mage, Mage, Hunter. Ended up 5-3 with a Paladin. Only got 5 or 6 options for GvG cards, though Flying Machine + Blessing of Kings was fun even if it will rarely work.

Brady might be the best at that quick throw up the middle after a play fake. He just turns on half a step and rifles it.

Vorici can add both 6 sockets and make it 6 linked at higher levels. Both cost a truckload of currency though. You can only get +2 fire, but you can roll a +1 to all gems on the same staff. Needing both is probably why they are quite rare.
