    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

Exactly, another great example were the Sisters of Errolisi on Sister island in the Ocean of Tears. Some people simply considered them as good xp-fodder, but they were tied into Wood Elf factions in Kelethin thousands of miles away, so killing them would have more implications. That simple fact...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

The EQ /con system did two things: a color-coding as to how tough the mob was compared to your level as well as an indication of its faction towards you, which was the much more interesting part of the /con system in my opinion. The latter was part of a much bigger feature that entailed the...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

That was a great spell! I think, when properly thought through, Mounts, Run-speedspells, cool runspeeditems and playerinterdependency can live nicely together. Giving players a level 1, +75% runspeed, instant acceleration Mount would be a big mistake off course.

I pledged and followed the Pathfinder Online KS very closely for the 30 days it ran and it was close, but they made it(1 million goal). Even though Ryan Dancy seems to be disliked by some (or many) I found their whole presentation of PFO much more specific and energizing. The tiers were good...

/agreed. Adding more pledge tiers and definately tell us more about the game. He should make a lot more effort in telling us exactly what sort of game he wants to make. It is a lot of phrases right now, with over half of them very generic. He should focus on the stuff that sets Pantheon apart...

I agree, this could have been done better. I also agree with this comment made on the KS: Made by Seumas Froemke, is that anyone from here by any chance? If he would offer the game (without alpha access but with beta access) for like 30-35 dollars, lots of people would feel they get the game...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

Well, that Video certainly did not get my blood flowing. The featurelist and summary of the game seems rather bland and generic, while not being very specific about the couple of old school features that seemed almost thrown in for good measure. Like the localized markets, distance mattering...

When I tried out WoW after years of EQ, I thought their scripted flightpaths were one the most awesome new features. Flying over dangerous areas that one day you may get to visit, seeing actual players on the ground doing their thing, high level creatures that roamed far below you.... . I also...

I definately prefer a limited loadout as in EQ but I must admit that I find it the most restrictive on my Bard in EQ. Anyway, put me down for limited loadout, and lots of class defining spells with lots of utility, and a World to go with it..... A huge task indeed! Question: did anyone...

    1. Infrastructures and more importantly, dungeons, should be allowed to have narrow and cramped areas, even if this messes up any 3rd person view. I am kinda tired of every structure in a modern MMO seemingly being built for Giants. Thronehalls, sure, goblin-infested dwarvenmine, not so much...

Welcome back, Brad. In reply to what other posters mentioned earlier: making the Loot interesting is one of the hardest challenges in a new MMO imo. In Everquest, if you were an average Joe like me (not one of those players that were camping Guk within 4 weeks from release) the Loot-meta...

    Why did Rift fail?

Even being a huge EQ-fan (playing it again for the last year) I still think there is a lot to like in Rift. It is therefore the MMO that ranks second on my list. I like the setting and graphics, there is a lot of mood in certain aras and the world feels pretty big (now with the xpack). The flow...

The building tools look great, that's for sure. But I am not sure how much pull EQNL will have for people that are not so much into building fantastic things, but are more into the "survival" mode that Minecraft has. I know that my kids will only play Minecraft on survival mode, with lots and...

When people talk about the Holy Trinity, do you refer to the (original?) Tank/Healer/CC trinity or the Tank/Healer/DPS trinity? I remember it became the latter after newer games did not bother much with CC anymore exept some stunning maybe. This also because of the faster paced combat of newer...

Atriarch Current News This was one of the upcoming "promising" MMO's that started being developed right after UO, EQ and AC proved to be popular. This, together with games like Horizons(flop, but lives on), UO2(cancelled), Shadowbane(flop but reached cult status) and some cartoony, online...

    Is the MMO Market imploding?

I had to chuckle when I read that. Not ribbing on your post, it is just that washing up on some shore/arriving in a ship in an RPG as the opening gives me major deja vu. Age of Conan, FFXIV, EQ2 and Morrowind are just a few that come to mind, but there were many more(also single player). So much...

    Lego Minifigures Online

I am currently having a lot of fun playing Harry Potter Lego with my 6 year old daughter(Xbox). The level of quality of the Lego games is great. I am playing this again with a vengeance for almost 2 months now. Last time I played EQ so hard was in 2008. I wonder how well the storybricks system will work under the strain of loot. I like the idea of "dynamic" NPC AI that storybricks seems to bring but phat loot will make players try to control the environment, and mess up any fun ongoings with the NPC(factions). If the system is complicated...

I have been doing exactly this for the last 3 weeks. Actually gained 4 levels that way, from 40-44. I also managed to get to 7 of those temporary coins twice, then bought the item that will yield you a Ward. Both Wards were of the lesser kind, the one that shields you from a failed combine...

On a related note, I really hope they will go the way of putting playerhousing in the gameworld and not into "neighbourhoods" (no matter if those are in the sky). Is there ever hope that they can recreate NPC-spawn timing, linking and pathing correctly? I feel that this was even a mystery to the early devs themselves sometimes. Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

After 15 years of MMO-playing and adapting to a lot of stuff I am surprised how annoying invisable walls still are to me. And yes, FFXIV is still the king of this: as in a beautiful lake-side building with a nice jetty in the water, which is completely walled off as is the entire lake itself...

I will have to admit: if doing 5 jumping puzzles in GW2 would have yielded me one of my Ranger spells, I would certainly have done them, and gotten a good feeling out of it, even though I am just a low/moderate fan of those puzzles. Combine them with a tangible reward and they will become more...
