Syndereen has a new team featuring two of the NIP guys. Seems pretty mediocre but who knows.
Also VP is ditching Illidan in favour of Silent from Empire (which probably explains why Funn1k and Xboct have been standing in for them at the last two tournaments), might be interesting if they can...
Given that OG is currently one of the best teams in the world and Na`Vi isn't even playing with their current roster they're doing amazingly well. Same thing with the second game.
I had a jungling alchemist earlier, level 1 @ 5-minutes, 22 minute midas, 1 item @ 50-minutes. No one even mentioned it until that point or I could have come and safelane farmed as riki, or the top support could have come help me bottom. Instead offlane medusa free-farm & safelane AM...
I don't think razor would have done much either, at best he would have pushed SF more into the jungle but would have otherwise been irrelevant, just spin him and ignore him.
I agree though, no stun alchemist seemed questionable. Perhaps the issue was that both w33 and EE went the greedy...
I don't think Juggernaut could have done anything useful in the defense.
To be honest, Envy's juggernaut hasn't been that impressive so far. It doesn't appear to be one of the heroes he's perfected. I think Burning, SingSing or Era would be more effective in the same game.
I think the double saves are the only reason OG are winning this.
Edit: Also, I remember Slark usually being picked w/ a hero who wants to go in first which they don't seem to have this game. No one to really distract them while Slark runs around.
Hmm, as someone who watched many of the EE games for the past 2-years, I don't think I remember EE playing Slark.
Yep, zero games on datdota -datdota: Stats

Thinking back, is it surprising to anyone else that Shadow Fiend wasn't nerfed at all in 6.85? He's been ridiculously strong for most of the past year, excels in virtually every aspect of the game (high magic burst, two passive physical damage skills while farming as fast as an AM and w/o...
Nyxx was picked quite often at TI3, but for some reason they nerfed his stun to ground cast rather than hero. This made it surprisingly hard to hit so his pick rate dropped off a cliff.
Holy crap the crits, if he goes rapier...
I thought it might be a reasonable matchup, odd drafts and they also like to fight. I expected OG to play panda tbh.
I'm not really sure that OG has what it takes to beat Vici though, I feel like VG will be less thrown off by their picks and should be able to play around them. (I assume...
Secret vs VG game-1 - it seemed like Puppey kept getting picked off, and then the wall illusions + spectre haunts caused a ton of cleave damage onto w33 in a couple fights.
Other than perhaps a couple early saves I don't think he did much. To me it seemed like the issue was they had one farmed core who had to worry about 3-cores, maybe if they'd safelaned Queen from the start ES would have been zoned out harder and QoP could have had early levels & farm.
I...
Its not an upset because it wasn't an unlikely outcome, it was a reasonable one. oth Mineksi is largely players unknown internationally and took a game off CDEC, destroyed EHome twice and challenged Secret.
Was it really an upset? To me the only team in an unexpected place is Mineski/EHome.
Eh, most teams don't build him as a traditional fighting carry anymore because he sucks at it. It worked this game because Newbee had no burst other than Gyro nukes.
I think they were scared of the NS roaming on Lina if she were mid. I was wondering during the draft if they were going to go Silencer carry as a last pick, would have wrecked the entire CDEC lineup.
I dunno, if you could go today it might be a personalized experience haha. It is also a week long event, I can't imagine too many people taking a week off for it.
Apparently Unknown has had fewer kills @ Frankfurt than Roshan?
Something I hadn't realized, the majors are hosted by other tournament organizers rather than Valve. ESL is doing this one hence RedEye & Frankfurt.
I guess this was done to keep the other organizers happy, but I wonder what this means for future majors. Will they all be hosted in the same...
People didn't forget, they watched VP play post-TI and do poorly. I think the issue is that they (much like EG) have gotten direct invites to tournaments and have barely played officials since TI on the new patch.
Not sure how you figure that:
A - Fnatic & Newbee still look bad, VP looks shakey, EG looks shakey
B - VG good, the rest are out of their league
C - LGD considered one of the best chinese teams atm, and well Secret...
D - EHOME + CDEC both look good
I think C9 are going to get stomped by...
Drama boys.... apparently a bunch of NA shitheads (mason, ritsu, wayto, patsoul, 747, jubei) have been tracking & sharing scrim drafts from DC (aui, bulbas & TCs team) -EE exposing anti-Digital Chaos group : DotA2
So CDEC and LGD are also having Visa issues with less than a week to go -Dota 2 News: Visa Rejected for LGD and CDEC for the Frankfurt Major in the first attempt | GosuGamers
Ya I don't get the Sheever hate, one of the few non-cam**** types in dota, earnest and actually plays the game unlike say Redeye or that random asian guy they had hosting @ TI....
The issue w/ super's passport raise an issue w/ the sub rules, realistically how many great players are going to be willing to tie themselves to a team to not play? I understand why the rule is in place, but in reality its pretty difficult to see how it can ever work.
I mean even if a team...
