I've lost many colonists and a few colonies trying to tame Thrumbos. I got one once, but it didn't have any special items like Muffalo fur or whatever, and it died a couple of years later to old age. I've since stopped trying to tame them, once you've done it for the novelty factor I don't see...

It's basically impossible, they follow me around from add to add and as soon as they leave an add it goes back to pew pewing at the Shaper. I might have had my Holy Relic out, but I'm not sure how much that affects my minions. The damage is pretty solid, but not enough to drop the adds in a...

Spent some time on Standard with that Dominating Blow guy cause I bought a Headhunter, super fun item. Drops Shaper easily enough, but I had a hell of a time trying to keep Shaper alive on a T15 Elder and just said fuck it and killed Elder without Shaper alive anyway. I'd bet if it was a T11...

PoE is that something. Don't try to min max shit, just go have fun. I promise you there's almost no way someone with gaming experience can't make it to yellow maps on their first character, and that's really where the game gets interesting. Not to downplay the trip to that point though, the...

The only thing that can 100% clear HoGM every time I think is Scorching Ray, but I could be wrong I suppose. What I do is clear it out and then come back with an alt-witch that has Scorching Ray in a 4 link and like 2k hp to mop up the rest.

I don't know why people keep blaming the individuals. Blizzard's corporate goals are always front and center in their game design, it doesn't matter if it's Gurgthock, Furor, or tad10 designing the world -- they're not going to break Blizzard's corporate requirements for developing WoW. It's...

Yeah that's what I thought, but like the whole point of the program is to view the data in that specific way, just not sure what kind of diagram I need to provide to show that. I've now written up a high level use case, but even there I don't really represent that view except as an implication...

Yeah, I was just reading about how to write a use case, I'm gonna start with that in the morning. That would be terrible, it'd be a meta of constantly shifting your character to whatever the latest and greatest is rather than the successful result of planned decisions. Your character needs time investment and identity, and its spec is a huge part of its identity. They've specifically...

Temporary names, PanelName initially was something else, I just never changed the name. Essentially a panel is comprised of two parts: material and shape. The material comes from steel coils, and the shape comes from roll formers. The PanelName table represents the shape data, just what the...

Eh, the SQLServer thing is mostly separate from this except for the fact that they both deal with coils. I've made the argument that we need to centralize ALL of this coil information so maybe they do eventually get looped in together, but I'm not sure my new boss wants me to go off into a...

So what we do is we sell metal building components, basically a big coil of steel comes in that's like 42-58 inches wide, and then it's painted and slit down to the dimensions needed for any particular component, e.g. MasterCoil 52" wide gets painted Light Stone and slit into 13.9375" slits that...

I'd definitely get some high end content under your built before rolling HC to understand the level of damage that you'll need and what will probably kill you, but this is a great league for HC play -- Delve makes it extremely easy to level up additional characters, and there's tons of OP builds.

Every MMO is a PvP based game so long as you're competing for scarce resources with another player. Where PvP design fails is when it strays from or does not provide a conflict resolution mechanism. Players who can't kill each other lack the agency to make a claim for a scarce resource.

You don't, you have to consider each layer of defense on its own. For instance, MoM tends to be weaker against strong dots because they drain your mana and leave you extremely vulnerable. You shouldn't think about defense as increasing your effective health pool, but rather as a way to...

I've been playing HC for about 3 years now, I've lost one character to desync. Shit was pretty rough before lockstep, but since lockstep it hasn't been an issue at all. Playing HC is great advice if you want to figure out how to make characters that don't die, though. The trick is to focus on...

Nope. Chances are you don't have enough life, enough layers of defense, or both. If you're wearing an Abyssus, you're going to die a lot unless you build around it very carefully.
