I do think that electric cars are indeed the future... but f*ok me if money was no object tomorrow I would go out and buy a Daytona Coupe and a Pursuit Special.
Interesting... never noticed how far back the gun is tucked under the helicopter.
When they built Blue Thunder the "gun" really made the helicopter very difficult to fly according to the stunt pilot. Here's a whole gallery from one of the on set photographers...
They also edited out Baby Herman's middle finger as he walks under the woman's dress... as well as a few other things from the original theatrical release. Used to have a Laserdisc of it.

Not sticking up for him, but it's possible it's in a private collection and wasn't available for the video. The hero version of "The Car" is in a private collection and I don't think it's seen the light of day in a long time.

As of 4 years ago everything was in 2K in a Windows Media Codec. I've got a projectionist friend I can ask to see if anything is 4K now... but that would mean upgrading all the digital projectors in a theater and that's not cheap.
I saw Naked Lunch in the theater. There was a Cinefex magazine that covered the bug typewriter. It was horrendously expensive. Wonder if it still exists…
