It depends on the wording cause there's a few different immunity options, but basically the two things that can happen is that Shock is applied but 0% effective, or Shock is not applied. Either way you're not taking the extra damage, but if something deals extra damage against Shocked targets...

Yup, spitters wreck soldiers. Soldiers also cost iron and food, two things you might not have a lot to spare on some maps. Snipers cost a little more gold, but otherwise outclass soldiers in every area. I always build about 15-20 rangers, and then start pumping out snipers.
