I think its important to note. Disgaea games are kindof two games in one. The story mode, is really just window dressing. but the real game is more like a jrpg version of roguelikes, and i don't know "spread-sheet management", or cookieclickers. +1 level up..

yeah. In single player games you need a bit of the "tower defense" aspect really. or some town/city management. one of the two. Base building games, simcity, etc are obviously genres, and single player. But that base needs a win/lose scenario of its own. Pure creativity needs multiplayer...

you are talking as if "comics" are only DC and marvel. Creator owned don't vet anything. They publish based on that brand recognition mostly. Image, Darkhorse, Arcana, etc. These publishers are 90% people that already have been working in the field, and can sell books on name recognition...

Do consider the timegap has always been a bit anachronistic. All sorts of things in the game, seem as though the bomb dropped like a week before you get to them, as the player 200 years later. Ghouls also live that long, many were alive BEFORE the bomb.
