I like a big world even if its partially empty - they can provide reasonable shortcuts between some areas that are better fleshed out. Then have a couple of features that rewards players for going off the beaten path so exploring an area that doesnt actually have much content is still worthwhile...

Said it in the EQN thread a few times but kickstarter is the only hope for that. As soon as you have investors that are trying to make a profit first and not just a good game, it wont be what you are looking for. So kickstarter, and hope the niche for your game is as big as the wing commander...

Pretty much. For an actual MMORPG I rate immersion pretty highly but Landmark doesnt need it and aEQN as a "game" wont achieve it. I doubt they are trying to build EQN as a "world" so I'm not expecting immersion to be relevant for the dev team (they might claim it to reel you in though).

Sounds sorta like GW2. At least I dont consider a heart in GW2 a WoW style quest hub. Definite pass on picking up 6 quests at once that have me go to the same spot to kill/collect. If they can make it seem a bit more natural (loved GW2 leveling) I can probably enjoy it.

They'll get a million just from the people that buy it *again* on console for various reasons. Look at the D3 thread for examples. So including people without a PC that just couldnt get it before you probably get several million.
