I smiled. I laughed a couple times. I actually enjoyed it. The serious business plot is basically just a canvas to tell cliched jokes and act out some physical comedy. I expected it to be weaksauce, and that I would fall asleep a few minutes in. I didn't. I made it to the end without quite...
I don't see that happening, but WoW has a new system of "flex raiding" that scales content based on participation. The range is only from 10 to 25 though, their current small/large raid forces. We've discussed scalable raid encounters for a long time. I'm still waiting for the entry that lets...
Linear content progression is one of the reasons for massive content churn. I'm interested in a plausible horizontal progression game, or at least a linear progression with a much much wider hallway.
oh wait what. slotting the ability weakens his stamina? is this like path of exile where spells are sockets we put in our gear? I'm confuzzled.
Don't you have nerd girls to daterape dude? get your priorities in order. talk to us tomorrow.
I want FFTactics' magic guns. Not bullet guns like in WoW. These guns shoot magic. Not magical bullets, magical spells. They're like staffs with a trigger and a holster. Awesome!! Quickdraw, and I shoot a gigantic ice comet at you. Best class ever.
The only way any EQ will ever be relatively successful to the WoW clones is to convince their players to defect, so they'd de facto understand why it's good.
summoning is lame as hell. I despise that shit in just general moment to moment play in EQ. Can't move the mob because he's fucking summoning me every tick. It's fucking terrible for fight design.
Appearance has a huge effect on species popularity. WoW launched with a gigantic imbalance of like 75/25 between the two sides because the horde was ugly as fuck. This wasn't mitigated until the first expansion when they gave them a new race, anorexic fashion model elves. It's pretty even...
One of the tweets during the panel was that gravity hurts. Don't take too much away from those videos. They were basically just eye candy. This was little more than a tech demo.
8:00 for the relevant part, and he says things like "go back in there". So it could be you going back for part...
I personally would like a DoTA style set of classes. Dozens of ultra-specialized classes with an consistent inner synergy (stealth and backstab) and a kind of role based group synergy (distract - ae confuse) with very few abilities. I don't like big rambling classes that do a bunch of shit...
EVE has gear based classes basically (vehicle based), and I dig it. You do need to touch base to swap your gear out though. It would be very silly to swap from ranger to cleric to necromancer in the middle of a raid depending on what boss is up next, and be fully capable to excel at that. I...
Even Assaults were not won that fast. In some cases siege equipment had to be built or repaired on-site, and ammunition might be foraged from the countryside. Even if you had working siege weapons and plenty of ammo, you sat there and let it work. Or you might use sappers to undermine the...
And fuck the druid/wizard monopoly on travel. I've never been into that. Give me a griffin system at least. I'll pay if a port is convenient, but I'm not going to haggle and send tells forever to get somewhere. I'd rather hop on a griffin and go AFK than go through that constantly...
This is some wake the sleeper shit. We will form a pact to prevent the siege from ever being lifted so we can farm the battle commanders forever for tier 7 weapons.
I see what you're saying. I agree with you. This kind of stuff should beextremely accessiblein its time. It should basically be...
I'd love for a dynamic long siege. I talked that up during Shadowbane testing. The sieges were basically just quake matches with the winner decided in an hour. You should wake up under siege, go to sleep under siege, and over and over. Historically speaking, sieges would often last for...
unsure, but they releasedthis pdf, and mentioned that more will come.
In any case, as a former high elf paladin a story about firiona vie vs. miragul is highly relevant to my interests.
I sense sarcasm, but it's a fun idea. Of course since we can't see the individual votes, they can stuff the ballot box all they like.
I'm in the same boat.
It is an exaggeration. Carrying some scrub that does 6k dps when the average for his role is 50k is not pleasant. It doesn't have to be absurd difficulty of raiding for it to matter. And PvP is far more about coordination in WoW than DPS.
Yea, Zehn talked about stuff like this going back a ways. I'm curious if we have old school mana bars. :P
I don't think I've seen many positive responses to the Kerran. I'm a little perturbed by it as well. Hopefully they give us options to emulate other cats of differing sizes in creation...
There was plenty of EQ in the concept art for me. The game is still being developed. The combat style and mobility options needed a facelift pretty damn badly, and they showed off how progressive they want to be there.
Making it quest based essentially makes 100% of your progress locked behind access quests. Of course you could have multiple ways to move forward, so it's not a bottleneck unless you're fixated on a particular goal. But this does bring up the whole issue of incremental advancement. People...
