Yea, DC is the nerfed to hell aggro version. (More correctly all disease isn't the insane aggro it was before - but DC was the primary one used to do it) Best aggro for quite a while is Clinging Dark.

Well, technically you have to NG+ at least a little ways in to get the last weapon. I'd suggest getting the 3 ends with the cloud save first, then doing cleanup for weapons/chalices in NG+ there's literally no difference for their difficulties. Just knock out all the boss trophies besides Queen...
