What do you look at? What would be a good night of stargazing for you? I'm not mocking or arguing, just genuinely asking. I live way out in the country and I like laying out on the lawn on a summer night and looking at the stars, so I thought I would like the telescope, but I felt like it...
I think this thread should be changed to "The space thread" or something similar. There is nothing about astronomy in here.
Honestly, does anyone actually spend time looking through a personal telescope as a hobby, or do people just buy them and then realize that magnified stars look exactly...
Does this show have a laugh track? Every time I come across a 30 minute sitcom and hear the laugh track it seems so anachronistic. Then again I haven't watched a sitcom aside from the animated ones (Simpsons et al) since the 90's.
I took Carrie's conversation with Saul at the end of the episode to mean that she thinks her sister is right. She's coming to terms with the fact that she's not a fit mother and the kid would be better off with the sister and her husband and she's going to let it happen because she can't stop...
The great wall wasn't particularly effective against the Mongolians, or at least against Genghis Khan. I think he was more the inspiration for a lot of its construction.
There are gothic cathedrals that took 500+ years to build. The great wall of china took 2000 years. People just don't have that kind of attention span anymore. It's hard to imagine starting a project that your great, great, great, great grandchildren wouldn't live to see finished.

The Rams are mortgaging the future trying to buy a SB run to get their stadium built. They should be contenders barring key injuries, but I don't see how they can keep the team together more than a season or two with all these high dollar free agents and the need to pay Goff and Gurley before long.
My brother says there are times when it lags, but I think in general he is happy with it. Enough so that his wife just bought one anyway. Says battery life is good. He was a note user before this and misses the larger screen sometimes but that's the only complaints I've heard him make about...
My sister in law just got a G5 plus last week so my Mom, brother, and her all have one now. She paid $170 for it brand new. When I look at them I feel stupid for paying 3 times as much for my S8 and the $1000 phones seem even more ridiculous. On top of the way cheaper price, they don't have...
We know all about trilobites that went extinct 250 million years ago but only 10000 years ago somehow there was an advanced society of intelligent beings that spanned the globe which we know absolutely nothing about except that they could move and shape rocks really well and actually built all...
Well you're not giving me much to work with. I think there might be a simpler explanation for some pretty nice stone work done in ancient times than a much more ancient modern civilization that somehow left no trace of its existence except for said stonework and I'm the one being unreasonable?
So the only evidence of a society capable of high tech tools are some round holes in rock? Where's the drill bits? And the drill?
The Nova link I already posted explains how to drill round holes in stone with primitive tools and they even did one to demonstrate it.
You can google...
If this stuff was built by an "advanced society" why is there no evidence of modern technology in any of them? Shouldn't there be some remnants of the 60 ton diesel powered crane that they used to lift those blocks, or at least like a single piece of steel somewhere? Shouldn't one of those...
Multiple cultures invented the same extremely simple tools or else they learned about them from an ancient society of which there is no trace except for a couple dozen large stone buildings scattered around the world. Which seems more likely?
Why do you believe the radiocarbon dating that...
If you take what one fat grandpa did fucking around in his back yard in his spare time and multiply it by hundreds or thousands of people working full time for decades, the results would be pretty impressive. Especially if you didn't mind killing a few of them now and then.

It's hard to see much gameplay as long as Naviti sticks together, but I'm liking Wendell and Kellyn so far. The only one I really dislike is Chris, and to a lesser extent Dominic. I like Donathan too but I don't think he has a chance to win.

This is a time of year when I'm very often sleep deprived so I'm sure that has something to do with my troubles following this show and then remembering it later. I should really just watch Family Guy reruns during calving season.
All the tribe swaps have done nothing to change this boring Pagonging. On this week's RHaP episode they mentioned that being split up early might actually make them more loyal to each other than if they were in one tribe the whole time screwing each other over and annoying each other around...
Ran out of time to eat yesterday so I just went to the deli counter at Walmart and grabbed some chicken to eat in the car not expecting much. I got some orange chicken that was garbage, but I also got something called "walmart wings" which were amazing. They were just breaded wings, not...
No headphone jack and no wireless charging along with the price is what stopped me. I don't know why more people aren't more excited about wireless charging. It's just as nice as I thought it would be.
On an unrelated note, I recently discovered that if you stick your phone in a coffee cup...
That happens like 5 times a year. I watch most games on the DVR and I almost always fast forward through the kickoff because it's almost never interesting.
This is a dumb story. Of course if they were using their own autonomous system, they would have to disable the Volvo one that's already there. The problem is that their system didn't work.
I have only been to Giordano's but I have been there like 4 times and it is amazing. If I ever get back there I will have to try one of the other places but last time I was there I was only in town for 1 meal and I didn't want to take chances. I went there by myself and ordered a medium...
I have a lot of faith in FX dramas, no pun intended. I loved Justified, Fargo, and The Americans and the first seasons of Sons of Anarchy. I've heard good things about American Horror Story and The Shield. Might have to give this a look.
I thought maybe Rick would be the new mine boss. He will do well. It's terrible news for Parker though, he's going to have a hard time finding somebody that's willing to work as hard as Rick and also put up with his childish outbursts.
It cuts both ways. All the chaos can put some good players in a bad situation, but on the other hand, it makes the pre-merge game less boring, which it definitely used to be.
