I thought this was a really interesting read (Zack Snyder Faces Haters on Justice League's Set -- Vulture). Snyder should face his haters, and the previous cast seemed to apologize, promise they'll do better, and make the movie lighter in tone. We'll see.

They are confused. I've read interviews, where they are talking about Flash as a comedic foil. Only it's Barry Allen. In the comics, he's one notch under Batman, in terms of seriousness. Wally West is the one with more jokes than Spiderman.
