Side note, tho, Garnet CSB seems really awkward on her with her ability selection. I've got a R4 Valigarmanda at least, but I guess maybe I'm better off just giving her bard buffs? And with Shantotto Glint now I'm really considering getting her USB like @Chris recommended instead of Ashe or Palom.

Well, after grinding out every mythril I had left available to me I was still a little short of 50 for another pull on Banner 5, but decided to risk buying gems to give it one last shot. And it paid off! Got Garnest CSB and Shantotto Glint. :) Now dark is the only element I don't have a chain...

Like I said when pulling on last night's banner a few posts before, tho, I'm specifically looking to beef up my lightning coverage since it's my weakest element. Shantotto is tempting, but I've got Ashe and Palom's LMRs already.

on a side-note, i never realized til tonight how useful my Palom with just LMR is. his default SB is a moderate magic boost. in the D240 with that, MAG/RES from Rydia's BSB, and Edward USB he was capping Chain Thundaja at 9999x5, even with a doublecast RM instead of a damage RM. unexpected...

wow, that is a LOT of incoming damage, even in the D240. managed to get that one in 31s despite it being really close, but this D280 is reallllly rough so far. need to totally rethink my team from what i brought to D240. no way will i be able to do anything in DWhale.

I take it the 99,999 damage auto-KO attack isn't in the D240/280 then?

Well, Lightning was my weakest element before pulling on tonight's banner, and after pulling it still is. Picked up Ignis BSB and Prompto BSB. Ignis BSB is supposed to be really good, but it seems really clumsy to use? Not sure yet, but it doesn't really help me with lightning at all either...

would probably just end up being several strats that you have to rotate between... use strat A then next time you need strat B, then you need strat C, then maybe strat D and back to strat A. it would be difficult to code enough variables in the logic to require more than a handful of strats.

it's not necessarily a requirement, but i thought some of the DQ games had job systems? they're pretty basic then? at the very least i like challenging combat. going back and playing, say, Final Fantasy 6 is a slog to me now, way too easy.
