Either I'm misunderstanding Storybricks, or you are. I'm not sure. From what I understand, Storybricks just defines how NPC's behave by allowing them to be assigned desires and preferences. That doesn't mean they actually think for themselves. Dialogue will still be triggered by conditions...

The question is how far along is Storybricks? Have they worked it into the game effectively? Is it even a finished product that is usable? Have they started writing content into it? It's gonna be a massive undertaking, and will dictate when we see anything close to playable. Hopefully answers...

Not to mention, creating & balancing abilities is more about spreadsheet work than it is about actual in-game performance.

All depends what they show at SOE live. Who knows... Maybe they have a ton of NPCs, weapons, armor etc all modelled. Maybe the animations are super far along. Maybe abilities are fleshed out. Maybe the world is already complete and is just waiting for buildings etc. Pretty wishful thinking of...

It's not the software, it's the actuation of the LMB/RMB that's the big problem. They feel like they are little... Diving boards? Too long and attached at the rear. They feel like they are floating. At the front tip of the mouse, the distance to press them down feels too long, yet it takes too...

I recently bought a g502. I've never been more dissatisfied with a logitech product. The LMB/RMB are unresponsive and sloppy and the thumb buttons are too sensitive and poorly placed. The cord is high quality, and the scroll wheel is nice though.

Even the Dark Elf tower by Bryde wasn't good enough for a final product... And that's about as close as anyone came in the recent Workshop. Fair enough though. A final pass by the art team would probably raise the 'acceptable' number to 5% or so. My point is, they aren't gonna get anywhere...

Yes. I keep pretty current. Played all the majors this year. Very few builds in Landmark have come close to TESO, Wildstar, or ArcheAge levels of quality.

99% of the player made content in Landmark is only 'okay', and far from anything that could be considered worthy to be in a AAA MMORPG flagship product. I've seen maybe a dozen builds that even approach the quality necessary to be in the final game.

Depends what you value. I prefer more beautiful images to motion quality in almost every game I play. But you're right. If I played an FPS or MOBA competitively then perhaps I'd care about 120hz.

120hz 4k panels don't even exist yet, and won't until 2016. There won't be a single card solution for that for like 4 years. Also, I think most would consider 40 FPS quite playable. Unless of course you are playing very demanding competitive games that require the precision experience 120fps...

Exactly what I was thinking. Here's the real question with the GTX 880 in October... I bet 4k starts to become real common in 2-3 years. Will the 28nm 880 have enough juice to push 4k @ playable FPS in 2 years, even on gimpy settings? Probably not. But I bet the top-end Spring/Summer 2015...

I would wait. This GPU cycle is all fucked up, and the 880s getting released in October are still on 28nm. Rumour has it that there will be a GTX 880 v1 & v2, with v2 being released early 2015 on 20nm. If you don't have a game worth upgrading for this fall, it's almost certainly worth holding...

Felmega... I can't imagine any reasonable person preferring EQ combat to LoL combat. It's so vastly superior that it's laughable. If SOE is gonna produce a combat experience as clean as a top-tier MOBA, I say awesome. Somehow I don't it though.

Ya EQ1's loot system was awesome. It sure was great walking into lower guk for xp/gear and having all the best camps taken up by solo cash farmers. And that was in 2000 when people didn't know much about online worlds and economies! Imagine how awesome it would be now!!
