Many moons ago, I bombed a nest of yellow jackets on Poo Hill, a place my dog liked. That night, the nest was visited by raccoons. I don't know how many, but they dug a hole 4' across and 2' deep and destroyed the place. There was honeycomb everywhere and not one living wasp.

They're probably not yellow jackets. Those guys built nests in the ground. They're wasps and probably paper wasps. As others have said, get those cans that spray 30', get a good angle and let 'er rip. Shit works good and fast. Coincidently, I discovered a nest in one of my down spouts...

It takes skill to run a smooth metal pan. The black plastic pans with the riffles are easy to use and you can see the gold better against the black.

Not true. I'm a violinist. $100 VSO (violin shaped objects) are frustrating to a beginner because no matter how hard they try, they will always sound like shit. They squawk and buzz because the truth is just having a bridge fitted to a real violin costs more than your paying for that whole thing...

I've done it twice in the Sierras. Get a black plastic pan with the ridges on the inside and go for it. It will only take you month or so to pay for the pan, if you hit it rich. On the other hand, it was fun playing in the creek all day. I keep a pan in my RV.

    Inside Out (2015)

My wife and I went and saw it. We liked it. My daughter is grown up and out of the house and it's been years since I've been to an early showing, during the summer, of a kid's movie. The audience is very noisy, in a good way.

    Gardening

The plants in my veggie garden (zuccs, cucs, pumpkins, watermelon, cantaloupe, eggplant, peppers) all look wonderful. The problem is that they are not producing fruit. I get blossoms but they mostly whither and drop. I'm thinking I don't have enough bees or whatever to pollinate the flowers and...

I don't know what model you're using now, but I bought a Gamesaver type Foodsaver not realizing there was a difference, but it is more commercial than the ubiquitous models you see at Walmart or Target. The heat weld is wide, the vacuum is quicker and it doesn't waste as much material each time.

Most of the National Forest land in AZ is available for camping. They tightened the rules some in the last couple of years, but you can basically drive off onto a Forest Service Road (make sure you close the gate behind you) and go camping, unless fire restrictions are in place. That said, I...

I've built two of those sheds, only smaller. 8x7.5. Of all the plastic sheds, I think they're the best. They have steel parts here and there that help the shed keep its shape even in AZ sun. Yeah, they're a little fiddly to put together, but if you resort to a torch, that's your fault not...

Those blocks are certainly the way to go if you don't want the wood to touch the ground, however, you might end up with quite a step-up to get into your shed. That might be an issue if you need to park a riding mower or you don't want to pick up your push mower every time you use it.

Are you going to fill that with concrete? It looks to be 1ftx4ftx12ft (I can't really tell) and that's 48 cubic ft of material at about 150lbs/cubic ft, that's over 7000 lbs. The bracing looks grossly inadequate. Maybe you're doing something else, in which case ignore this.

No, the floor is in generally good shape with some cupping near the dishwasher from a water leak the PO let go for a long time and some gouges here and there. No new wood and no base. It's a pretty straight forward job. I think Corndog needs some more estimates. He's being quoted 3k for just...
