Chromecast - the new Google TV

I use my Chromecast to stream from Couchtuner exclusively. I like to let it buffer a few minutes before I watch an episode of whatever. Most (95%) of the time it works flawlessly. If it doesn't, it's usually shitty internet that can't keep up.

    Lasik Eye Surgery

My wife had it done back in the day when they used scalpels, not lasers (we're old). I didn't want her to do it. It was too new but she went ahead and it was miraculous. Her eyesight has deteriorated over the years and she now uses glasses, especially for reading but we have no regrets about it.

I had a Besenji. I was tossing a ball for it one day and my kid was between the dog and the ball and that little fucker ran right over her (she was 4) to get to the ball. He could have gone around, but he was making a point. He slammed her down so fucking hard. I found another owner for that guy...

The air purifier function of the Hyla is extremely loud, but that's because it's primarily a vacuum cleaner. You just leave off the attachments and turn it on. It knows to run for only 1/2 hour but you can roll it from room to room and it really does clean the air.

The "Shit I just bought" thread

This is what we have.Hyla. All the air that comes through the vacuum is filtered through a bucket of water. 100% of dust, hair, mites, etc. is trapped in the water. When you're done, you dump the water down the toilet. You can run it as an air purifier during allergy season if you want. Again...

I don't get why you'd want a bagless vac in the first place. It's just a glorified shop vac complete with the dust cloud you get when you empty it. Put that shit in a bag, unclip the bag and throw it away. No muss-no fuss and no dust all over your trash can or clothes.

I lived in Northern AZ for about 15 years, not Phoenix but it was hot except for 3 months of winter. I live outside of Boise. I've been here less than a year so I can't comment on most of the things you're curious about. I came from Northern AZ. (Sedona) I used to average my electric bill at $200/month and I froze in the winter (I also had a pellet stove that ate $600/year in wood) and...

I get two water bills. City water is about $8.50/month. That's for bathing, cooking, laundry, etc. Then I pay $200 a year for all the water I can waste from the irrigation folks. That's strictly for gardening but it's unmetered and comes in a totally different pipe. It could be less, but they...

I mostly agree. I've installed a few tile countertops. If one cuts those 12x12s into a 3 piece pattern (12x12, 12x6 and 6x6) or uses a porcelain tile, you'll have a prettier and more functional counter and it's not much more work. You'll have more grout lines, but choose a dark grout and keep...

No I didn't. You're going to use non-sanded grout with 1/32" or 1/16" max. grout lines. That's not going to add up to much. 3 grout lines equals 3/16" max. You can really go amateur hour and use 1/8" grout lines, but not in my house.

But it doesn't work very well. Granite tile is 12x12. Two of them is 24" which is an at least an inch short of what it needs to be. Go measure your countertop and I'll bet it's at least 25". So now, you're going to have a 1" strip near the backsplash. The backsplash will lay on top of that so...
