At least you chose wisely as Colossus is pretty good. Some of the heroes are god awful to play at early levels.

I think many people have commented on how tempting and easy it is to put money towards this game. You get a lot of value (at least by Gaz standards) out of that pack. Though what you quoted still stands true, the individual prices of some heroes and most costumes is silly.

From what I can tell the 1 gig is just a 'base' version where you re-download most of the game and then they will patch that base version. So expect these every once in a long while.
