S&S I always thought was the most beginner friendly, and it's a decent weapon to use just in general. DB's are also very easy to use and understand as is LS. Haven't played in forever but when I left HBG was probably the most broken thing in the game but I found the playstyle pretty un-fun.

You can fly direct to Aspen, Summit County is accessible as well and a fair amount cheaper, Telluride is the best ski destination in Colorado but a bit out of the way (the prettiest ski town in the state as well imo), Park City is very accessible but also a bit expensive (close to Aspen $$)...

I'd tell him to just buy a cheapo $500 tv and expect to replace it every few years. I've got a 7 year old Samsung that has been mounted outside for about 5 years and still works like a champ after being rained on, snowed on, oppressive summer heat etc. Outdoor tv's suck and are too expensive
