I wonder what kind of space infrastructure and launch capability we'll have by 2034. I kind of hope landing a rover on titan is not such a huge accomplishment by then.

VR Gaming - Oculus Rift, Playstation VR, HTC Vive

Flight sims have huge potential in VR the massive viewing size lets you really see that building or plane or mountain that would normally be too small to really enjoy on a flat screen. The problem is the resolution is so low that you just see a pile of pixels. It's still technically better than...

This is terrifying. I imagine the lift is just some commercial thing, but it'd be interesting to see what they could do if they made a custom one built for speed / throughput.

Sauhaugin->underdark is one of my favorite sequences in any game ever. The relief and accomplishment you feel coming out the other side is immense and it was like the furnace that transformed you from an adventurer to a legend.

In the EE version the toughest encounter in the game in BG1/BG2/ToB on Legacy of Bhaal mode is the rat fight in Candlekeep. The mechanics of Legacy of Bhaal make the rats super powerful and it's the very start so you can't prepare your way through it or use any real game mechanics to beat it.

Very cool. I think it's mankind's highest priority to build the biggest solar sail satellite we can and use it to reflect the light into people's eyes to fuck with them. But seriously I wonder how wide of a solar sail we could launch on the falcon heavy with today's tech. It's 5kg and has a...

That could also be a partial list. I'd love it if they brought back all the old zones with just a bump in the mob difficulty and not much else, and then fleshed out with new zones that had progression quests, collectibles etc.

The only characters who should come back as a playable character is Minsc/Boo and Edwin since they are iconic and on the lighter side. I'm sure Jim Cummings will do some voice over-work, so why not have him do Minsc too.

I'm pretty sure you can install SCS mid-way and it'll be fine. Back up your saves ofc. I'd also recommend not installing all the buffs to wizards letting them cast their bullshit in SCS.

Dragon Age: Why We Can't Have Nice Things

DA:O is probably top twenty. Top ten when it came out easily. There have been just so many great RPGs to come out, and games like Witcher3, Ultima7, TES5 etc get a bit of a boost from being part of a strong, fleshed out and consistent franchise, where as DA:O is clouded by the failure of its...

harvesting bots are great, but I think an approach that shakes the bush/tree/plant and then collects what it drops is going to be the way to go instead of hand actuation. How that translates to strawberries I have no idea. 2:11:

Somebody probably should've told these dumbasses that traffic stops are secondarily for enforcing traffic laws and primarily for catching people breaking non-traffic laws by inspecting criminal vehicles who can't help but break traffic laws.

The two big questions I have for those robots is cost and runtime/distance between charges. They look spectacular and can handle many mobility challenges that wheeled robots aren't suited for. I can think of numerous use cases where they could be used even with limited range. And I bet they are...

Looks cool, but I'd be more interested in whether it's an open game that allows player created dungeons and mods. Not sold on the isometric view, it's just so... limiting and overdone.

    PS4 games for our kids

I want to buy a switch for my 4 yo kid, but am not sure if he'll enjoy it that much or if it'd even be good for him, lol. Plus his taste in cartoons is shit, what am I going to do if he's bad at video games? I don't want to carry him through gaming his whole life.

Anyone who doesn't use advanced loot spends as much time clicking corpses as I spend making them. The only problem I have with it is the rare incidents of crashes when modifying your filters. This happens most regularly when mass killing entire zones (where advanced loot is best used).

I like BG1 better than BG2 because A: The DND combat works better, IMO, when it's more simple at lower levels B: BG1 is effectively an open world game with a main mission that takes you through a large, linear storyline. BG2 has an open world-quest hub (Athkatla) with a bunch of large, linear...

tbh I would love to see their two best players dueling to win, it's a much better measure of how the combat is vs a guy trying to smoothly move through a level.

We'll see, but it's going to be finished in a few months and AAA games are rarely better at release than they are at E3. Right now it looks like a stilted melee combat game with lightsaber-looking bats.
