I always wonder about ethnic restaurants where everyone who works there is the race that the food comes from. Is it intentional or does it just happen? Can I apply for a job as a waiter at an Indian restaurant and sue if they don't hire me?

I'm afraid our Chinese place is going to go out of business. They are closed now and they were already struggling because the state is doing a 2 year road construction project right in their driveway and it sucks to get there now and has for a long time.

I have to admit I was secretly hoping the 9ers would draft Jerry Jeudy just because if there could be a second great wide receiver named Jerry it would be cool if he was a 49er too.

Aquarists unite: fish are friends, and food

I do a 40ish percent water change every 2 weeks in theory. In practice it's probably closer to every 3 weeks on average. I just vacuum the gravel, scrape the glass, and change the filter media if it looks too gross. Never take the fish out of the tank for any reason.

The big thing you get with the Yoder is a lot of steel. The whole thing is made out of ¼" plate and I do think it makes a difference with temperature control, especially in cold weather. I've never been a plant guy and my african cichlids would just eat them anyway but back in my community tank days I used to buy little baggies of bulbs at Walmart of all places and drop a few of them in my aquarium and in a few days there would be leaves going to the top of the tank and...

Acidfly's opinion on bowfront tanks isn't gospel. If you like them, then get one. I have one and I have spent many hours looking at it and haven't experienced any of acidfly's apparent rage. On the contrary, I think they are very attractive. It's not hard to clean either, you just need to...

Grass doesn't want to be planted deep. You just need enough dirt to keep it from blowing away basically. I'm assuming they said you need to rototill because the ground is compacted and you need to soften it up so the roots can get established? A rototiller will dig down 4 or 5 inches at...

I guess the fancy tank is mostly an aesthetic thing so it's up to you if you want to spend the extra money. The basic tank will work just fine though. Do you know how to cycle a new tank? Since you have another tank that you can transfer stuff from it should be easy but you will want to keep...
