Taking that step tells me that banks are expecting to take ownership of some of some of those assets through margin calls/defaults. It mostly tells me that the general reluctance to make margin calls we've seen in some sectors is probably coming to an end.

I read that demand was down ~35% somewhere, so I think a 35% cut would have been the minimum they should have aimed for, probably 40% with the current overstorage. 35% drop in demand is pretty massive.

I don't think it's crazy to say the markets feel divorced from reality atm. I mean we're up 10% this week on news that there's been only at least 12 million new unemployment claims in the past two weeks. No biggy.
