$40k/yr is certainly not even close to poverty level if you truly live in one of the lowest cost of living areas in the US. Why are you abbreviating cost of living?

Keto 101 is actually to stay away from most fruits because of the sugar content, but he's hinging every single belief of his on that one principle of staying in ketosis, when he doesn't need to stay in ketosis.

I have no real experience with Betterment yet to speak of. I opened my account up less than a month ago so I don't have any history. I just get 2 years free if I get 3 people to sign up using my referral link. I'm such a shill.

Paying off your mortgage early shouldn't be difficult if you didn't borrow more than you should have. I have $219k left on my loan. I really wish at this point I hadn't gone with an FHA. The big saving grace for me is that it's a duplex and almost the entirety of the mortgage payment is covered...

    Headhunters?

Software is probably the easiest industry to fill positions for so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a bit different in other fields. However, the story you were told by the recruiters who were trying to talk you into paying fees sound like typical snake oil salesmen.

    Whats rustling your jimmies?

I've heard so many mixed things about this that I have no idea. I've heard people say idling is bad for the engine. I've heard people say let it idle til it hits 1500 rpm then do whatever. I've heard people say let it idle for at least 5 minutes. Who the fuck knows? Not me!

Interesting Lyrical. I can tell you, as someone who's worked with recruiters my entire professional career in Software, I have never once heard of a recruiter trying to charge the employee. They always charge the employer.

Recruiting firms do indeed work "the other way around". You can and should definitely contact a few IT recruiting firms in the area you wish to relocate to. However, you should note that companies will almost always look at resumes of candidates who do not need to relocate to fill the position...

Well I was talking more to Borzak about using Credit Cards. But you should know 12.9% is not a terrible rate at all. My FICO score is 817 and I regularly get offers at 14.99% or higher at 25k credit limits. That's just how credit cards are, it's why you don't want to ever carry a balance.

Worrying about the percentage rate on a credit card is weird. Being afraid of credit cards is also weird. Just use them as if they were cash, never charge something you can't immediately pay off in the same day. Not using credit cards is actually a waste for you as a consumer. You're...
