I disagree with Caliene. I enjoyed season 2 the best. 1 and 2 were my favorites. The other seasons tend to fall flat at the end. The show would honestly do better by being 2 or so episodes shorter. That being said there are a lot of things to like about it.

I definitely think its good to sit starters but I don't think he was going to learn much from Peterman. I have zero faith in their coaching staff either. Either he learns and becomes good enough or he doesn't. Splitting the reps definitely has not helped this situation for either of them.
