Lack of swimming in new world feels like it had more to do with restrictions on where people could go For example, a lot of the faction PvP missions funnel you through choke points that could be completely bypassed if you could go swimming

    Cloning Problem

Most of those movies/shows also work with the presumption of degradation of the DNA in each successive copy due to how they source the DNA sample. For example, rather than use the same "master" sample for every single clone, lots of these productions seem to imply that the next clone batch...

This is also the correct take. Instead of the "lol join or die" approach, tossing out a bunch of exclusive goodies through an optional program would have probably worked in attracting a semi-decent sized group of people.

Just noticed something on rewatch that makes me question the timeline Lucy mentions the "great plague of 77" as the event that led to her mother dying. The show takes place in 2296, so a 19 year gap. Lucy has faint memories of her mother but not being in the wasteland, so we can presume she...

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

If you try to strongly force Asterion to stop Ascending, he will leave your party. It has to be his own choice ultimately...not too different than the Shadowheart choice with the spear. If you push him too far either way, he will go full evil or peace out and break the scepter to spite you...

Sony just wants your data to sell and to send you unwanted marketing bullshit They're wrapping it in some "safety" excuse, which is hilarious considering how often they've had data breaches on PSN

The country limited thing seems like the bigger issue considering the global reach of Steam Sony isn’t going to say “use false data to make an account”, so they need an official stance other than “sorry guess ur fuct”

    Fallout - New Vegas

All the pre-Bethesda Fallouts are pretty dated at this point (1,2,Tactics). If you don't mind low res janky UI games and can power through it, they're solid. Just difficult (both the game itself and getting past the dated feel) Fallout 3 and NV are very similar - NV has a better overall...

Depends 1) If you try to go to underwater prison, Gortash makes you an enemy 2) If you kill murder lady without making a deal, I think Gortash makes you an enemy too? 3) if you make a Gortash deal and follow through, Karlach abandons you He eventually ends up in his apartment in all the...

GoT - Is Over, Post Your Drogon Sightings

I think the show played a role One issue I always encountered with creative writing is you always have some good parts really fleshed out in your head and then you have to write all the other stuff to get there and connect it all. It’s the connective tissue where you get bogged down…you can’t...

He actually has a conundrum 1) The show revealed how he originally planned the story to go 2) He realized people didn’t like all of it, so now he has to think of new shit while not shitting on everything he wrote before No one is going to be happy when it comes out.

    Star Wars: The Bad Batch

Seemed like the show primarily served as a capstone for the end of the pre-Empire clone stuff storylines/the Kamonians and a better explanation on why Project Necromancer is seemingly less advanced that prior clone tech we see in the prequels

    Archeage

AoC strikes me as the bastard child of Archeage and Shadowbane - I’m still convinced that unless he softens the “play to crush” gameplay design, people are going to quit the game in droves after the first month or so

    Helldivers II

Whatever they did with this patch is making the game run like dogshit on a lot of PCs. I used to get 60+ FPS even during mass swarms - now I am getting like 15-20 FPS just standing on the bridge of my super destroyer. I've barely played as a result.

Mega guild at least in the sense they were killing all the cities and no one was able to stop them anyways They did use bullshit like banes at 3am though If we can thank the devs for one thing, it is that they demonstrated “play to crush” MMOs are guaranteed to become failed ghost towns

    Fallout 4

On the flipside, Fallout saw far more popularity once it moved to 3D. Most RPGs in the late 90s/early 2000s were pretty much the isometric design - stuff like Morrowind really popularized the FPS-style of open world RPG and it also translated much better to consoles. While a Baldur's Gate 3...

Lords of Death or something was the “mega guild”. They had their city on that ice island - the attack that killed their city had like 500+ people and was a slideshow / sb.exe fest I forgot the other city guild names. My company was called “Eleven” and we were mostly just former EQ1...

    Helldivers II

Tried the crossbow changes - “slightly reduced” aoe is a lie. It can’t clear tiny bugs or bots like it used to and you effectively need a direct hit to kill anything. Even using it in close quarters isn’t as big a risk anymore because of the nerf
  34. Cybsled

    Helldivers II

Not sure why they nerfed the crossbow - AOE for the explosions is now like half of what it was and they reduced the ammo count. Almost no one was using it to begin with.

Mariko living or dying would have worked in Toranaga's favor 1) Mariko leaves no problem - Ishido loses all his hostages and the other lords abandon him 2) Mariko dies - Ochiba abandons Ishido, which causes the other lords to abandon him

Tauren Mill in closed beta was pretty funny. Mages used to be able to channel pyroblast while invis and the invis wouldn't break until the cast completed. So mages would basically just setup on the fringes and 1 shot squishy people and then reinvis. Most of them had no idea warlocks could...

The problem with true sandbox games is the only content of note is what other players contribute to the server. Once you get past the initial "build a city" part, then people start looking to destroy other cities and it becomes pretty easy to end up in a "mega town kills the server" situation...
