Forget the safety, this is the big signing for the Niners. Since their entire gameplan each week is to jump out to a 3-0 lead then to sit on that lead with their defense and running game, having a clutch kicker is key.

Good luck. When the wife and I went to buy a house we probably looked at 40+ houses, had an offer in on a short-sale that was strung along for 6+ months by the banks before the market fell enough for us to afford what we currently bought. The house we ended up in is perfect for a number of...

What a cluster fuck. I just can't imagine putting up with that nonsense just to get a few overpriced beers. As a matter of fact, I don't get any of these release events where you have to wait in line for hours for a taste. There is too much good beer readily available that is pouring these days...

White House Petition To Remove Day Light Savings Time

One year, I manually changed my plug-in alarm clock forward not knowing that it did it automatically (so it basically moved ahead 2 hours), my computer changed on its own but my cell phone for whatever reason didn't even though it should have, so I had 3 clocks with 3 different times on them and...

Yeah, I don't know how easy or hard it is to jailbreak and iPhone, but I know on one of my Motorola phones (Bionic maybe?) unlocking/rooting was as simple as downloading an app and clicking 1 button within that app. Don't see how it gets much easier than that. I won't deny that some...

I did some reading up on the PicoBrew system. For me there is one major question mark with the machine that hasn't be answered to my (or many other homebrewers) satisfaction, and that is how does it get rid of the DMS. This machine doesn't boil the wort and has a max temp of 206 degrees. One of...

I cannot imagine a situation where voluntarily consenting to a search is going to save you "heartache." How so? Expected point value for an extra point is .996, for a 2 point conversion 1.009. They are virtually identical propositions with the caveat that the epv for a 2 point conversion is much more volatile in the small sample size of a single game making it more risky.

I don't sell any of my homebrew, but I do share quite a bit. And to be fair I drink quite a bit as well. There is technically a 200 gallon per year homebrewing limit (plus some states have further homebrewing limits) but nobody is coming around knocking on my door checking how much I brew...

Ale yeasts have a wide range of acceptable fermentation temp ranges but once you start getting above ~65? you start getting esters, the warmer you go the more you will get. With a couple of exceptions, esters are generally an undesirable off flavor. Also when you get too warm (above 80...

My average cost per batch is just short of $30 for ingredients (including my propane and brewing water). Or about $0.75 a pint or $3.38 for a six pack, that is quite a bit of savings for me. I do buy all my hops in bulk and have a nice yeast-bank built up that significantly cuts cost on my...

Oh yeah, that is fine. Although the one other thing I always point out is the temperature inside your fermenter is often higher than the ambient air during active fermentation (sometimes by as much as 10 degrees), but as long as you can account for that you are golden.

I think, outside of sanitation, it is the single most important factor in brewing. Being able to keep my fermentation temperatures down in the low 60's (for ales) is the thing that took my beers from drinkable to commercial quality. *edit: If you can't use a temp controlled fridge or chamber...
