The DPS companions are nice if you are playing a healer and don't want to be bothered switching specs when soloing. They do good enough damage that when given healing and the DPS healer mode folks can do allows you to bang through stuff at a good clip.

Ez can do a ton of damage if built correctly and played correctly. He tends to be played more like a caster than a standard auto attacker ADC but especially in solo q he can be very strong.

It really depends on if the other content in 6.2 between the new zone/reps/dungeons/timewalker stuff helps smooth things out. 6.1 one the wait was terrible because there wasn't anything else to do other than run alts as you waited for things to unlock.
