The gulpers in the show looked to be an Axotol or something, Far Harbor and FO76 had regular salamanders. In FO76 the Westtek computers dive into some of the lore of the mutated animals. Gulpers were a proto-FEV experiment

All I remember from the original mini series is the ninjas attacking, probably because as a kid all that interested me in the show was ninjas lol

Well she is right about giving the BoS shit about the power - if they're Mojave/Fallout 4 style BoS, they're going to keep it for themselves and use it to project their own power

    Starfield - Fallout fallout that isn't ES6

Ship building was cool in concept, but in execution it REALLY needed to be better 1) While having different parts available in different spots is a cool idea in concept, in practice it sucked because you had no way of storing parts to use elsewhere. So if you wanted a ship with a specific...

I mean look at Fallout 4 factions Institute: Your actual son runs the place. Gets you almost killed but then is like "water under the bridge, I want you to join the family business". Has a lofty goal of restoring the wasteland, but eh who cares if some people die. BoS: BoS Hitler wants to...

Railgun is still pretty good against heavy armored bots - with safety off, you can still one shot hulks/etc if you get them right in the glowing face

It’s ultimately short sighted as well. Players spend money if they think their purchases will have value and longevity If you turn around and say “here is a marginal upgrade…btw your $200 in RMT skins are gone!”, that player is less likely to spend money on the next version that barely...

I forget, does Lucy say how long ago the crop disaster was in vault 33? She associated that with when her mom died. So presumably Lucy was still very young when that occurred, which means it cannot have been that long after her memory of being in the cornfield under the sun

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

The two channel dye stuff isn't going to be retroactively applied to everything right off the bat, or at least that is what I took from the fanfest. I suspect dyes will see a spike in prices initially as people start collecting enough 2 channel dye gear that they like. Especially the stuff...

    Fallout 76

The MSQ sort of starts off slow (the lost treasure mystery), but gets better once you have to visit beneath the White Springs resort. You also can start the Brotherhood of Steel stuff a short while into the MSQ, which runs somewhat parallel to the MSQ stuff.

Lucy is an unreliable narrator for that bit of history, so we don’t know what is true or not As for New Vegas, Bethesda has a strong aversion to “bad guys win” endings in Fallout. So who knows

    Fallout 76

Chronologically, Fallout 76 takes place only 25 years after the nukes fell. The show and later Fallout games are close to 200 years later So some of the factions/groups aren’t too far removed from their pre-war stuff

    Fallout

Presumably only the overseer would communicate. They estimated the people in Vault 32 had died about 2 years ago - presumably Vault 31 triggered some type of failsafe that resulted in everyone dying in Vault 32 after they revolted. The only possible "plot hole" comes down to how often did the...

    Fallout 76

There isn't much PVP anymore (not that there was much to begin with). They killed the battle royale mode a couple years back and they got rid of Hunter/Hunted gameplay you used to use the radio to queue up for (although no one ever did it).

Brotherhood of Steel: Originally they were formed when Roger Maxson (part of US Army) had discovered some shit going on at WestTek and after the war. His original plan was to try to preserve as much knowledge and tech as possible, in the same vein as people who preserved knowledge after the...

    Fallout

I see a lot of people misinterpreting the line of “we’ll drop the bombs ourselves” to think Vault Tec dropped ALL the bombs. The games have made it pretty clear that Enclave/Vault Tec triggered the nuclear exchange. You just need to drop one bomb in either China or the US and both countries...

    Fallout

No, it was revealed over the season. The triple vault setup eventually makes perfect sense once you understand what the goal of the experiment was. There is another vault in the show that is it’s own standalone vault like most of the vaults were

    Fallout

They explained why - the triple Vault setup was part of the experiment. 2 Vaults were for the purpose of maintaining relatively varied genetic stock and the 3rd “control” vault helped them introduce specific individuals that would both control the other 2 vaults and contribute to the ultimate...

The scientists presumably used post-war irradiated animals for the experiments. Fallout 76 had a similar concept for one of the vaults and pre-war prototype FEV experiments conducted by WestTek (before super mutants)

    Fallout

Regarding Wombat's post 1) We didn't get to view any "common man" situations by the time the bombs drop. They're at a wealthy birthday party in the 1st episode and even in the other pre-war flashbacks, it is pretty much just Hollywood and the homes of wealthy people. Hardly representative of...

You get completely fucked by the flying gunships if you don't have the right loadouts to counter them. We had a map with 2 control towers right near eachother and suddenly had 6 gunships all gangbanging our squad while we couldnt do shit lol

Different opinion: Retcons aren't really retcons if you have unreliable narrators or data sources providing the original information and the "retcon" fills in the blanks. For example: Fallout 76 adds a lot more backstory to the Brotherhood of Steel. Maxson still founds the BoS, but it adds...

    Fallout

They added a regular Fallout questline/story to the game years back. While the game is online, you can pretty much do everything solo and most of the story interiors are instanced. There are also 'dungeons' you can run solo if you like - Expeditions that bring you to The Pitt or Atlantic...

Titus wasn’t just being a dick, he was threatening the squire with execution to mask his own failings. Not too far a stretch that Titus could have just been like “this pussy almost got me killed” and they take the word of the knight over him Although Maximus was a piece of shit to his squire...

    Fallout - New Vegas

NV is on par with 3 in terms of mechanics and graphics, so 3 might make NV feel “samey” in terms of how it plays. Certain mechanics in 4 might spoil you as well - power armor in 4 is actual power armor, not just regular armor you slap on your character like in 3/NV

    Fallout

Titus was a little bitch that wanted to blame someone and let them die to cover his own ass, so letting him bleed out is whatever That later scene with Maximus and the squire makes Maximus look like a psycho/Titus, though
