    Naked and Afraid

Glad Ms. Vajayjay's secondary hut efforts were vindicated. Hey, at least she wasdoingsomething rather than lying around complaining (which she admittedly kinda did the first two days but she obviously had an allergic reaction to something). Surprised they lost so little weight. They must've...

I'm too much of a perfectionist. I'd start rewriting people's code. And if someone rewrote mine a fist-fight would ensue.

Wait, what? No, there was no memory implant. Po cutting the oil lines happened in the past - in 2014 or whenever. Mom and son were then put in deep freeze and woken up two thousand years later.

I updated my Nexus 7 to Android 5 (is that Lollipop?). It's slow as shit now. I've performed a factory reset and cleared the cache which improved it some. But it's still close to being unusable.

The issue is that our guy is assuming a value will always be present in a data set. Since our application allows the user to do custom naming, then it's a situation where the query may not find what it's looking for, returning null. The code is acting on that null value assuming it's, well...

    Jurassic Park 4

Saw Jurassic World today. I liked it, but i think I enjoyed it a bit less than 3. Although it's been so long I can barely remember much about it, other than I liked it. Sam Neil may have made it better than it was, perhaps. I think part of the problem, as others have mentioned, is that we've...

Yeah, I realize that. That's why I try and offer an alternative approach in a friendly way and don't push the point if they decline. However, in this case there is a fundamental flaw in the way he's designed his class that WILL throw an exception. Yet he'll always respond with, "That'll never...

Fucking code reviews are the bane of my existence. This one guy refuses to listen to anything I say. And I am trying my best to word my comments in such a way that they would not be construed as attacks. He always falls back to "it's consistent with the rest of the application." Yes, but...

Yeah, this particular recruiter speaks of C# and Angular. I consider myself pretty darn fluent in C# but Angular? Really just a basic understanding. I've written a simple web app using it, but that's about it. So I'm kind of hesitant to respond since I automatically think they are expecting...

Is the dude that got the crap kicked out of him an android too? I couldn't quite tell what the black android was doing with the wire -- cauterizing the wound or hooking something up? It looked like a wire was coming OUT of the guy.

    Dark Souls 3

Ha! I just finished Dark Souls 2. Only took me 138 hours. I think I ended up enjoying DS2 more than DS1, despite it not having a connected world (which is one aspect I loved in DS1 and Demon's Souls). Never had a desire to play NG+ in any of them, though.

I'm chomping at the bit to use the newer web technologies: AngularJS, NodeJS, Bootstrap, etc. etc. But we're stuck with ASP.NET WebForms and I know, deep down, they will never give us the go-ahead to write something new. And that is what's frustrating is that it's difficult to learn something...

    Tyrant

Definitely some beautiful women in this show. Sadly, Jamal is my favorite character. He is so much more interesting than Barry. I think the writers made a mistake by making him so over-the-top villainous: raping his daughter-in-law and outright trying to murder the opposition leader in that...

C# is a .NET language (as well as VisualBasic and F#). If you're interested in web development then ASP.NET MVC is what you should study. For desktop apps go WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation). Just go download Visual Studio. The free version is good enough. C# compiles into .NET IL...

On another subject: our team uses the Scrum-Agile process of software development. What is becoming a major issue, in my mind, is how our development is so uncoordinated and unplanned. For example, another dev and I were tasked with adding new reports to a newly created module in our software...

Personally, I hate excessive comments. One of our devs loves to write voluminous comments and it eventually just becomes noise. Your code should be clear as to what it is doing. And, as for magic strings and numbers, that constant should have a descriptive name to make it clear what it...
