Most people say kb/mouse is totally fine, and in many cases (ranged) superior to gamepad. Personally I like gamepad for melee weapons.

Just took out tempered kirin. Used the drum tool on my calico and only engaged it with either vitality or thunderproof mantle up, took a while and only used my big attacks a few times. Now it's time for some tempered elder farming!!
