I believe those of us that got in with no queue did it very early in the morning. I have had no queue every time I've tried between 4-6am EST

From what I understand most guilds would prefer a hybrid spec where you get shadow weaving but then just heal anyway. That being said I would imagine you’d get a spot if you put in the effort to maximize your dps as shadow and farm necessary consumables to be able to compete

Mages can aoe farm at some point, and depending how the layering/dynamic spawning ends up working you may be able to abuse it. That being said yes warlocks can level easily.

Warlocks scale better but mages will be better for a long while. Also if you get to be the ignite guy then you will have the higher DPS. Both are solid in PVP.
