    The Feminism Thread

My good friend Arbitrary. I love you. Please describe how your post on feminism belongs in the political thread.

Great points guys, can you further expound on that?

    The Feminism Thread

I don't even disagree with this, but with nearly nothing actually happening regarding feminism in a political or legislative sense, the amount of back and forth over the same bullshit over and over while actual political discussions are happening is pretty tiresome. I mean, ignoring my personal...

Great point, Mist. Got any more amazing comparisons to today's treatment of half a billion women as cattle?

    The Feminism Thread

Yep. It's also a big enough topic that, in my humble opinion, deserves its own thread.

Nice discussion of witchcraft history there Keg. Got any more good lessons about this critical period of early feminism?

    The Feminism Thread

Political thread. All of yesterday that thread was half high-value political discussion and half feminist/SJW crap. Which has been true ever since the election.

I disagree and think everything you believe about feminism and sex is wrong. Please correct my obvious troll bait in this thread.

    The Astronomy Thread

I think if we can harvest helium-3 and water from the moon it becomes much more attractive. But before that tech exists I don't see the value in creating and supplying a moon base. And that's something that's on the table for the next 10-20 years.

    The Astronomy Thread

Where is the tech at with moon water harvesting? Do we have an idea of how much energy, raw materials and machinery we would need to extract a litre of water from the moon?

    The Astronomy Thread

What advantages would the moon base have to offset the disadvantages of having to safely bring mass into a gravity well and then move it out of the gravity well?

Not as awesome as asteroid mining.

    The Astronomy Thread

Unless we get a helium 3 using drive I don't see what a moon base does for us except create a resource sink to maintain.

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

I never understood why some shoe laces are terrible and untie themselves and some merge into an impenetrable object by the time I untie them at night. I need a cohesion ranking of shoelaces.

Technologically? No. Politically? Yes. Thing about asteroid mining is that it's most valuable when you mine resources that can be utilized in space. In today's environment one can imagine parking a 10 ton brick of ice outside the ISS and scraping off ice cubes to sell like a cosmic lemonade...

Trucks are often around 20k lbs, trailers 10k and typical loads are up to 50k. So 80k lbs is typical. So if we're talking about a 25k lbs battery, it'll be much heavier. We'll see what Tesla produces.

    Autonomous Systems

Looking forward to seeing this. I feel like you need enough mileage such that a trucker never has to stop because he's out of juice. Not sure if many truckers drive for the full 11 consecutive hours usually, or it's closer to 4-6. So you might need a truck that can run for 8+ hours before...

State Of Decay 2 - May 22nd Release

Hard to know the truth without more information. It could be that they wanted a break from open world zombie development and went all in on creating a pokemon RPG or whatever, but the solid developers that worked on SoD1 and made it successful left for better opportunities. (or whatever reason...

    Everquest - Live Servers

The enchanter nerfs weren't ever rolled back. The class is still pretty good though. You'll do a lot better with war/enc/cle than mage/enc/cle. The mage pet isn't a great tank, and tanks are pretty OP right now. In modern content any 2box or 3box that doesn't include a tank (war/sk/pal) is...

Musk doesn't deserve worship, but he is thought highly of for good reason. He built two amazing and very different industries that are changing the world. Few people can claim they've built one, much less two. He's BTFO traditional car companies and traditional aerospace companies. You have to...

Not surprised. I don't want to read into it much but he's probably not effective in his current role. Luckey was tremendously successful, he took advantage of a massive gap between existing technology and what was possible and made a fortune by providing a top-quality product. Even if the other...

Yeah the savings of the first reuse are kind of irrelevant (though 10% isn't anything to sneer at). I'm sure they'll be doing a bunch of tests on these first few refurbishes that won't be done later, along with improving their refurbishing process. I mean, when your goal is to have a 24 hour...
