The Prosecution wasn't incompetent at all. My understanding is that they brought in heavy hitters for this. They just didn't have a case, and it was still a pretty close call.

The media stories this morning are really, really disgusting. I can easily see why so many people are outrage by this verdict. They need to actually look into the case and not trust their favorite (and probably only) "news" source.

I think the prosecution did a good job of making it really convoluted in that courtroom. For us outside looking in, it seems obvious. For them, though, especially after getting the lesser charge instructions, I am thinking it's not clear cut anymore. Edit: And they're women.

I've been unable to find any stats on the trial and how many objections were brought forth by each side, and whether or not they were overruled or sustained by the judge. Those numbers obviously need to be taken with a grain of salt, but I'm still curious.
