Ratings aren't very high, but I am glad they renewed for at least another year. I appreciate channels that take the time to see if a series will develop a following. I can see where this show isn't for everyone, not the best show by HBO atm...but I enjoy it enough to stick with it until the end.

Right now I would consider "Better Call Saul" slightly ahead for me (Of what is currently showing and not on break) That being said, I believe 1999 (And the start of Sopranos) till now is the true Golden age of TV. I could name a dozen shows I would consider top 25 all time in my opinion...

I agree with this, but Showtime did a good job (IMO) with Ray Donovan having the same issues early on. (Storylines changed and introduced more characters, etc) I could see where they might get stuck quickly if they don't have a plan.

So many references I have forgotten about...need to watch BB all over again.

Interesting, I did not know Scorsese directed the first episode and thought to myself "This director must think he's Scorsese". I noticed the camera sweeps, flashbacks, music placement, etc right away. It's nice to hear another persons perspective on it.

You could really see Scorsese and his directing all over the first episode. The others are directed by different people, I will be curious to see how the style changes. (If at all)
