Yeah, ATK/MAG is a killer debuff. I'd highly recommend the 6* thief skill too - ATK/DEF steal, good on Vaan and Locke both. Even if it's "just" 20% I find it adds to my teams' damage potential and it's a nice buff to my already-powerful-bursted-way-beyond-softcap Thief.

Aeirth's BSB isn't a top3 healer SB, but it's plenty powerful enough to carry you through all the content. (I have it, and it's wonderful--all the next-gen healing BSB are great--but it's a full tier below the absolute best-in-class to get an idea of how strong those are.)

Guaranteed 5 isn't just about blanking - it nearly doubles the 5* rate. I don't even know what's on this X banner, but if you can master the content without pulling, you're almost certainly better off waiting for the next X event (Tidus OSB/BSB are very good).

Celes with that stacking buff is superb. Your team has ultimate survivability (two great healing SB's) and stacking ATK buffs with shout RW. Unfortunately you don't get a whole lot of high multiplier attacks, but a Saints Cross Celes goes a long way and you're one good pure damage B/SSB away...

Stack as much MAG on your BSB user as possible. Ideally you'll want a MAG buff (Faith is a decent substitute). Mental Breakdown and Full Break against Ifrit help, too.

Even the raised ATK softcap puts us to where we are today. It's trivial to get ATK to softcap today - Shout, plus a high leveled character (70+), with a 5* synergy weapon. We'll be getting lots of stacking buffs now. MAG teams benefit much moreso than physical teams.
