Most underrated and overrated movies ever

Agree. My grandfather fought at Guadalcanal and he -hated- that film. If I recall, we watched it together on TV and he turned and said to me "what a bunch of pretentious crap. We weren't reflecting on life and existence, we were too busy trying not to get shot"

    The Boys

It was literally the only way it could have ended with them alive. They in no way could fight off Black Noir.

    Raised by Wolves

It is and it isn't. For good shows, I think it is an advantage to have the "water cooler" aspect and it still goes on. Look at all of us theorizing about major shows over the years that were popular. Those discussion threads basically wither and die without that and just become "let's theory...

    The Boys

This is highly likely. Every streaming service seems to be experimenting with different show release ideas. Disney+ pushed for that with Mandolorian with 1 episode per week, Raised by Wolves seems to be a double drop every weekly, Netflix and Amazon have been doing "half season now, half...

Most underrated and overrated movies ever

There are lots of "good" movies that are rated that way because they're basically well written, have maybe 1 standout actor, and some good cinematography...but ultimately they aren't very entertaining or even memorable in many cases. I sort of liken it to appreciating a painting vs...

Those are good numbers, but I have to imagine box office totals in a normal environment would have exceeded that.

    Archer

From what I remember, he got shot and was face down in a pool. They thought the robot Archer (which was supposed to be the decoy in the pool) was the real Archer, so they didn't bother to help him out of the pool.

    Final Fantasy 16

Zodiac Age is 12, isn't it? FF13 is the Lightning one. 14 is the MMO. And ignore the shit in this thread. We literally know nothing about game mechanics beyond it being action oriented. People see a trailer with no UI elements and are like "omg, FF game with only 1 person!!". Wait for the...

Call of Duty 2020: Black Ops Cold War

C4 already has a damage nerf vs players, but I do agree it is a fairly low skill vehicle kill in its current form. Radius nerf would be best option. Also boost weapon thermite damage vs vehicles.

    Final Fantasy 16

People always forget FF games have had sci-fi elements since day 1. In FF1, you go to a space station and fight robots and mechs and shit. And I love that. Pure High fantasy (Aka not even any magic tech) puts me to fucking sleep.

    Final Fantasy 16

Can always do the FFT raid series in FFXIV to temporarily ease your pain lol Back to the thread, I haven’t seen any confirmation you only play as 1 person only in combat. The trailer only showed that, but I would reserve judgement until something more official comes out from a gameplay...

    The Astronomy Thread

Venus had lots of things that impacted it: Slow rotation (a Venus day is pretty much the same as a year), no plate tectonics, no magnetic field. I would be curious if the slow rotation was the eventual result of the thick atmosphere, or if something else caused that. Slow rotation would have...

    Lucifer

Awhile back they automatically flipped everyone to hide adult content, so you have to turn that off. Media search was also nerfed a couple years back to not return any adult results. However, regular searches work just fine.

    The Mandalorian

Tatooine can be forgiven because the Hutts ran the planet and they knew well of the Jedi. Not a stretch that the broader organization would have had a greater awareness of them.

    Lucifer

TBH not surprised. Twitter is a fucking cesspit of trolls and bullies. If it wasn't for the fact it was the only major social media site that hasn't banned tits, then there would be no reason to use it lol

    Final Fantasy 16

Yoshida did a great job with FFXIV and honestly the story in FFXIV is the best story in a FF game for decades. Cautiously optimistic.

    Fallout 76

I still don’t buy that filter hypothesis. Is it reasonable that a civilization or species ends for various reasons? Sure, we see it all the time. But life being common in the universe doesn’t mean we’re fucked because we haven’t encountered advanced life.

Battle Royale is overrated, to be honest. I remember watching it back in the early 2000s. Maybe it was because people had been hyping it up, but I thought it was merely okay. I think if they had gone full Running Man with it and embraced the whole "watch people murder each other for...

The Russian space program sent a successful balloon probe to Venus back in the 70s, so doing something similar would be completely viable. They would just need to figure out something that is significantly more resistant to acid so they could get a longer term mission going.

    Stargate: Origins

This is likely. They'll go to some galaxy that is far beyond the range of their current hyperdrive tech, so they can't just have the Earth fleet show up and kick ass. Then they will keep it that way until the plot requires otherwise.

    Stargate: Origins

SGU started to get a bit better when they realized they aren't Battlestar Galactica and they lightened up a bit. It also (plot wise) was getting more interesting just prior to cancelation. It's rough for Sci-fi shows now. A show like ST: Enterprise probably would have gotten the standard 7...

    Stargate: Origins

Potentially. They would also have to find an angle. 1) Earth is super powerful by the end of SG1 and Atlantis. You either make a threat that matches that (not the fucking Lucien Alliance, the pilot to SGU was fucking dumb when a bunch of standard Gouald motherships are beating the shit out...

    The Astronomy Thread

Pretty intriguing if true. Despite Venus' surface being a hellscape, it's upper atmosphere is rather temperate and also dense. Venus is also theorized to have been more conducive to life in it's distant past, so it is quite possible life evolved, some of it ended up in the upper atmosphere and...
