You're not really setting realistic expectations then. I'm not sure what you're looking for.

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

If I had to guess, I'd say stuff like no corpse runs, easier traveling, no money weight, probably something like LFG tools to make partying easier (with teleporting to the dungeon), etc.

    Is the MMO Market imploding?

If you're only wanting games that JUST LIKE EQ, well, it doesn't exist, and never will, because making the exact same game again is dumb. If you want multiplayer games that are less themepark to various degrees, that aren't WoW clones, then here's a list: -Wurm Online -Minecraft (kinda)...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

Yeah, it's making me sad thinking about it. I even chatted to Brad himself a little in-game when he was on the server, I thought that was cool. I only got to do one actual dungeon run. I love non-instanced shit, and back to non-linear dungeons. But without people, all that content is...

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

Honestly, this is a case of "they need to fix their shit". Stuff is very not in sync with their servers and what other people see. It's way too touchy and dependent on latency and animations. My guess is you both were right - on his screen he was probably out of it, but the server hadn't updated...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

You're implying that it's fixed now? I played it at F2P launch, still had tons of issues with chunk crashing, lag, etc. And that was in empty chunks when I was just trying to do some tradeskills. Was really liking the game, but the bad "F2P but not really" system made me not too happy, then the...

Not there yet, but I'm guessing it'd make helping other 50s do relic stuff and catching them up easier, but with level sync'ing, it's kinda selective.

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

Pretty sure they're saying the item level requirements will be for mainly the level 50 end-game stuff, including AK and what-not. Grinding FATEs is still fine, especially since you'll drown in seals, and can get good gear from the GC.

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

Yeah, risk versus reward is screwed up. They really need to beef up dungeon rewards so it's not just "this thing you must suffer through to finish the story line / GC hunting log". FATEs have high reward (best exp, tons of seals for gear) and pretty much zero risk (never going to die, can hop...

Hah, 50 is a severe underestimate ;-). When your sound constantly clips, and half the time the enemies are getting culled.....yeah, it's more than 50.

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

Yeah, that's pretty likely, although I think the "you can level up everything" will help for some better retention than normal. But still, it'll be enough that everyone that gives a shit should enjoy the easy FATE grinding while there are zergs big enough for it :P

Digital sales were open immediately. It was reactionary after the fact, when many people could not play at all. It's still a good move, and I'm glad they did it (GW2 did this too) - but it's not like they were smart enough from the beginning to withhold it.

Yep. Interrupt whatever you're casting, move move move, press no other botanz, cast again when you're safe.

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

Yeah, it's fucked up and dumb. Latency of course can get you hit too. But at least knowing why you're getting hit means you can fix it until (if) they fix it. Which they probably won't. Make sure to pay attention to the NPCs cast bar too if you're a non-healer, that will help.

Consensus is that insta cast skills don't update your position on the server side until the animation finishes. I know I have a habit from my WoW days of always using insta cast stuff while on the move, so for example on Titan, I'm usually tossing regen on the tank while I'm getting out of his...

SA has 1 full FC of 512, plus an overflow. You haven't been able to create a character there since like...15 minutes into beta 4, so we have several smaller goons populations spread out (like 5-50 people on random servers or something).

The side quests present almost an entirely different leveling path. They're for alts and dead space in the main story line. If you're doing them all on your first class, yeah, you'll be "ahead" of the story line. But if you're just doing the story quest line, in the late 20s you'll start needing...

So I had trouble getting the patch yesterday to work on the torrent I downloaded of the game for open beta. I had to do the following, maybe it'll help you: -On the folder, right click, remove "read only". Make sure it applies to all subfolders -Open the folder, go into the two subfolders...

Just curious from people - what video cards are you using? I don't expect a video card as old as mine (4870 x2, or numbers close to that, heh) to get improvements with video card drivers anymore, but I didn't know if their unified driver architecture made it so it would still boost them...

Yeah, I think it's going to be a lot bigger, initially at least, than they realize. Also note that GW2 topped Amazon charts too leading up to it's release - so don't take that as any indicator of long term health of the game. I wonder how SWTOR was.
