Gender Integration in the Infantry, and how Robots fight Misogyny

You could, but the big downside here is that the YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL PYLONS sound byte would no longer make sense.

It'd be realistic too because you could dynamically create zones you could effectively operate in based on your radio coverage, and if you instructed the carrier to operate outside them you'd literally need to construct addition radio towers.

I've seen this before and it's pretty fun because it combines the advantages of both platforms. I'm on a project now that is ALMOST perfect for this but has a few aspects that make it impossible.

Gender Integration in the Infantry, and how Robots fight Misogyny

There's no doubt that drone warfare is a huge field and a big focus on DoD research. I'm not a military strategist or warbuff, but I feel like drones are the modern military's response to insurgency warfare in urban/desert/mountainous environments. There are some incredible advancements in...

Gender Integration in the Infantry, and how Robots fight Misogyny

For me personally or the DoD? To the first, because that's how I'm currently employed and because I live in Detroit. To the second, there will always be stuff ground robotics can do that flying can't. And vice versa of course.

Gender Integration in the Infantry, and how Robots fight Misogyny

Yep. The DoD should continue funding ground robotics (and not just because that's how I get fed), but there are some real challenges that won't just be solved without unpredictable advances.

Gender Integration in the Infantry, and how Robots fight Misogyny

I don't really get why "Let women into all branches of the military, treat them exactly the same and make them pass identical tests." is a problem for those who think women should be in the military. Special tests and treatment in the field is bizarre.

There's no reason why you should expect that in a few decades autonomous pack carrying systems will solve most physical disparity issues. If we get an unforeseen breakthrough in battery tech, there will be a chance. There's a reason why Ironman's suit is centered around a fantasy device.

Until the crowfall kickstarter CU was the only real mmo pvp game on the horizon ( i dont count albion). Then crowfall come out and did its marketing much better than CU in my opinion. Its only natural that fanboys will attack. Its still dumb though. Most mmo pvpers will play both and quit the...

I think I'm pretty much done with the game. Once I got my first max-stat dweller back from a 90+ hour (they stop picking up gear after they get 99 items, which is around the 90 hour mark since they get about 9 items from random events and get an item an hour) I found out that with that many...

I loved the elementalist in GW2 that had 4 different elements you could switch to which changed your five primary skills. And those skills were also modified by which weapon you were using. Camelot Unchained MMO

There are very good reasons why PRX and most other MMO PvP communities are looking at both CU and Crowfall, and will likely play both unless they release at the same time. And they'd be morons to release at the same time given that we get one PvP MMO every couple years and the only three that...

That's one good thing about Unity, you can get to that pre-alpha state pretty fast. The stress of using unity comes when you want to do X or are having problems with Y but can't within the confines of the game. "Oh, you're having trouble getting 200+ dudes to be able to AE each other in a...

IT/Software career thread: Invert binary trees for dollars.

A lot of open source C++ software can take a while to compile. Boost, ROS, PCL, OpenCV, FLANN etc. And then header-only libraries like Eigen (and much of boost) increase your compile times dramatically. In many cases you can use precompiled headers to speed that up. Regarding asking for code...

We have a neighbor who tried to talk us into removing our smart meter for a 10/month charge. He even has a microwave detector to show the strength of the pulses. I looked up websites and I can coat my house in some kind of faraday cage to stop the microwave radiation.
