They can definitely fix the combat mechanics. Early on the combat is too disjointed because of the weapon swap and the cooldowns on skills. I am sure the cooldowns will decrease, but the weapon swap will always be there. That on top of you only getting 3 skills off that weapon onto your hot bar...
