Gold income is pointless if it doesn't re-enter the economy. As for the free orbs, you do get some free orbs eventually if you run enough side quests. I dont recall getting arena orbs for free, but then again I still have some side quests in reekwater I havent finished because they need a group

    Blizzard dies and Bobby rides

I've seen other games do the same when their population begins to crater. There was a BR game called Scavengers that made a lot of bad design decisions that resulted in the game being a ghost town. Until suddenly one day when matchmaking wasn't ass and your team would populate with players who...

    Lost Ark Online

That annoyed me in BDO as well. Race or gender locking classes is the most annoying shit in a MMO. TERA used to be the worst at that. Want to play this reaper class? Well, then play the loli race as your only option

Them sticking to the dumb tuning orbs in their current form causes a lot of that issue. No one ever runs the Sirens or Pools arenas, Laz/Genesis runs are few and far between. Especially on a lower pop server. They have extra content and move on with their delusion that by making them long...

Devs already posted they plan to "significantly" reduce the costs when it goes live. They're also adding jewelry to elite chests/elite areas, so you'll have chances to raise your jewelry GS more regularly than you can now

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

YoshiP and crew have been warning for months about to expect issues. They had like a 10 page blog post detailing issues with obtaining servers due to the microprocessor shortage, etc. It sucks but they've at least been trying to communicate this for a while now

Additional PTR datamining is revealing some interesting bits 1) Watermark bump chance from chests and elites is being heavily nerfed - like half for chests and much more for elites 2) The water mark bump is you get is being halved at higher GS levels - like for instance, instead of getting a...

So mixed thoughts on their additions The good 1) Adding targeted ways to increase the expertise is good 2) Increasing viable elite POI (Mal and Imperial) 3) Adding additional ways to target specific crafting attributes 4) Making dungeons more valuable 5) Admitting they overtuned some of the...

    Archeage

The naval PVP in this game used to be the highlight for me - cannon duels, boarding parties, using different ship types to accomplish different goals. If there is one thing other MMOs should copy from Archeage, it should be the naval stuff

Well you can bucket it into two silos which can interplay off each other 1) Live Service Game stability/ support 2) RMT in your games (DLC, cosmetics, etc) #2 is bolstered by confidence in point #1. People will not be willing to invest additional money into "shinies" or "boosts" unless they...

You get lots of cosmetics, emotes, and even store credit for having prime. Check your Twitch Dumping and moving on is a bad idea - you set the tone for future games. If people see you dump shit early, they won’t support future releases

They already datamined 620 GS stuff. I do agree that the best solution to dupe issues is once you solve the duping bugs, then you introduce stuff that devalues anything that was duped.

    8-Bit Christmas (2021)

Failures like 3DO and even Sega Saturn highlighted the need for the "magic console pricepoint". For the longest time, no one really wanted their console to pass the $300 barrier and games rarely went past $50 after PS1 saw a lot of success vs the N64 and its pricey cartridges. Of course, all...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

It isn't always a bad thing - sometimes spitballing ideas can lead to some great concepts or story beats. SNES was definitely the king of the early 90s consoles One birthday I got the super scope - that bazooka looking lightgun setup for the game. Some of those games were hard, though. You actually had to lead your shots on some of the games, like that alien invasion one.

I just remember in years past they always nerfed the XP gains or the XP scaling made the prior expansion handins not really viable. Kind of like the leves - if you try to do a prior expansion crafting/gathering leve at max level for that expansion, it gives crap xp.

That is part of it. A lot of the AoC mechanics are also fairly Shadowbane-like, which also contributed to the death of that game 1) Extremely punitive death penalty in PVP - people can steal your shit 2) Extremely punitive town siege penalty - players who invested in the town lose their...
