Ya, the left click flail animation looks kinda dumb, like she is waving a rubber hose at you. They could probably fix it by adding a little weight/heft to the end of the flail, so it has a delayed reaction vs. the handle and chain.

I watched Fifth Element like 100000 times on DVD/TV, but only once in the theater. Annihilation is one of those films that will rely heavily on word of mouth to boost attendance. I don't see Wrinkle in Time doing well...obscure source material fantasy films haven't fared too well as of late...

If there is no FTL in this universe, then where is the alien planet? Just the act of discovering/colonizing that world would have realistically taken centuries. Also, what method do they use to transmit data? Unless it is virtually instant, you'd still be looking at years for round trip signals.
