It's a good thing for the Rift as long as Oculus didn't pay too much money to CCP to co-produce it. It could be a bad thing for EVE if the Rift is a failure. Though I'm sure they'll port it to monitor and consoles.

That's pretty big news. We knew that EVE would work very well with the Rift but to make it exclusive means they can disregard all other considerations and focus the experience on the rift. Hopefully things wil come together and really set the bar for a space combat simulation with VR.
