Yep, I'm on page 4 as well, at level 20. The sniper shotty (orange) I have has been great, I back that up with an energy assault (purple) and a small assault (blue). Gives me good coverage on ammo and targets, I use the shotty on the big shit and things I need to die in one hit, like the Lobbers.

PvE catch-up isn't a thing. PvP catch-up is something that varies alot. If you're in a newer guild and fight T1 nodewars, then full DUO gear is the norm, and TRI makes you a mini-god. If you're in a T3/Siege guild, TRI is the norm, and TET makes you barely over the cap. I'm still playing daily.

In short, Lava field adds to your aggro cap. So a pet + lava/poison + player = fuck tons (24) of mobs. Meanwhile, us shitters are aggro capped on 8 mobs.
