I feel like that's their plan, which I don't mind so much. I think they said something long the lines of "not every ability you need a target for" so

I'm actually looking forward to super rare attributes. Getting +500 str gloves started to get boring. I'd like to only receive them from difficult quests or hard raids having a chance to give them out, that would be neat. I hope they keep their plan of keeping attributes rare but actually useful.

We're aware of that, but the reason everyone is worried about no trinity is GW2 failed it so fucking hard. And as far as no healer / gw2 went.. you could spec heals but they were completely useless and you may as well just DPS. I don't want to DPS, unless my DPS is causing buffs and heals.

I just still can't wrap my head around it. I like playing support only, fuck all that noise. The rest of this game looks really fantastic at what I've seen imo but no trinity is destroying any hope I had. I guess we can hope for an amazing combat system that would actually make it viable. GW2...

There is such a major backlash about this I can't see them completely doing away with the holy trinity. There's no way. Unless they show us some actual combat I'm out until then. If they developed a new system for tanking and healing.. maybe. But EH.

Depends on your definition of hardcore. WoW still has some pretty hardcore raids last I checked, albeit that was a year ago. But there are some ridiculous fights whether you want to admit it or not. However you could also do those raids as pugs and get shit loot on a lesser difficulty, but you...

pretty sure tad said there was more than 4 abilities for characters. Like, you would get 4 from weapons and 4 from armor. And of course that varies depending on whichever class you're playing at the moment as well.

What do you expect? This is literally the very first look at the game. They're not showing us something 6 months into beta.

I feel like the stamina thing just means that the teleport ability would take a huge amount of stamina so you may not want to use it as initiation. I could be wrong but that's how I interpreted it.

For it still being a limited closed beta, I don't think they'll make it this year. But they haven't promised anything other than saying "We would like to ship this year but when it's done is when it ships"

I'm enjoying that summary. I missed the last few pages in the thread, but thank you Tad for reporting on it. I guess I'm excited for this because I didn't play much EQ, but what they're saying most definitely sparks an interest in me that's for sure.

If they can manage it, I think it's going to be badass. I never expected this to be the second cumming of Jesus and I still really don't, but for they've shown I enjoy every bit of it.
