Of course Weidman can take it, on the ground or the feet. I have a month avatar bet with someone on it (I think Silva will win) but I forget who.

Much like every encounter in DS once you get the animations, timing and responses down it's cake.

I was wondering how you got the 40x figure. My assumption was that in 2013 you guys had a garage sale and she made $150 and you used that as her salary.

The industry latching onto sandbox as its golden feature for 2014 makes me very happy. I hope they'll switch from that to VR.

    Too many games?

I play a ton of different games, but usually if I play it for more than 1 hour I beat it (Or achieve a level that I could say I 'beat' it, ex: building something massive in minecraft). There are a lot of games I get, play for 5 minutes and just uninstall (Ex: Starbound, gears of war)

Yup. Within hours of being released DS was best on PC. Which is funny because DS is the worst AAA console port ever.

DS2 is one of the games that'd be fun to play at release because this thread will be full of tears and new information. OTOH if you play it months after release you can look things up if you get stuck. But if you want to go in blind it really doesn't matter.

    Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

The rating stuff was weird but I think it was a good idea. GW2 had that also, maybe just for beta though. The thing that made it awkward for AC4 is that the ratings were for fairly long missions (30minutes or so) so I think a lot of people rated the mission on how the last few minutes were or...

    Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

I think I can echo people's thoughts in that this game was great but the weakest part was the main story. Not only did the end seem rushed but it got somewhat formulaic too. Plus it seemed that 80% of the missions had you doing the worst activity in the AC games: trailing and eavesdropping. Most...

Didn't know you could poison them, but if I do it again I'm definitely going to poison them. The fight to get to them was so annoying because I always wanted to dance with those golem dudes but never really got the timing down.

    MMO Glitches / Sploits

Early after WoW's release one of the patches broke levitate for priests. I could climb virtually every surface that wasn't perfectly 90 degress to the ground. I was on an active PVP server (Keep in mind this was before honor tokens so people actually PVPed outdoors) and while I showed off a few...

Does the combat system ever get more complex? Seems hard to get involved in a game where combat is jumping around and swinging a sword in one way.

    Dark Souls 2

Anor Londo archers are definitely one of the cheapest encounters in any game ever. But I felt that they and the Capra Demon were the only examples of overly cheap mobs. Felt good out-cheaping the Capra Demon though.

    Dark Souls 2

It's deeper than just being hard and giving no information to the player. The world is very beautiful and sad and a real treat to explore. There is something rewarding about exploring areas that are difficult and dangerous to traverse, but even on its own the zones in the game are...

Marriage and the Power of Divorce

I've never really found the 'you can't contemplate or understand what something is like until you experience it yourself' to be true. The same went with marriage. There are a lot of relationships where two couples are pretty incompetent, get married and discover marriage is very different than...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

Thorium reactors will happen when natural gas, oil, coal and other fissile materials become too expensive to power our world. It'd be nice to get them running and have a virtually unlimited power source before we start running out of the other materials but if we don't it's ok too.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

That could explain some of the switch to target-based combat over aiming, but target-based combat is a mainstay of MMOs. (And Skyrim was just fine on consoles). I don't really see much consolitis in the problems laid against TESO. It's just mediocre from the basic design to the implementation.

    Virtual Reality

Very unlikely that the first version will be 4k. 2k is more likely. Going to be really expensive trying to max out AAA games on Rifts. They'll for sure release 4k versions with 120hz refresh rates. Combine that with how bad fps drop is on an HMD and those things will be system killers.

Hehe you're right it has typical parking levels of a city. Being a tourist and not knowing the best parking, roads and general locations makes it seem worse than it is. Yeah they can certainly spend it. I saw an article that they are planning on using the money for inventory and marketing (Rather than R&D) so I think it's pretty focused on rolling out the consumer version. Will blow my mind if I see a Rift commercial on TV. Kind of like the first time I saw...
