I agree, they sure do fail, and the movies get bleaker and bleaker as they go on. They're just some shitty random friends dealing with a cosmic horror. Reggie narrates that the Tall Man has been moving across the country and towns are abandoned, and you get this sense of a greater apocalyptic...

The Phantasm movies are great. They were a huge labor of love for Don Coscarelli. I know there was talk of remaking them (maybe JJ was involved) back in the early 2000's I think, and they had were planning to make them the "Starwars" of horror films. Guess that shit never got off the ground...

Hey, The Mangler wasn't bad, it had Buffalo-fucking-Bill. Best is probably The Mist, or any of the other Frank Darabont adaptations. Christine is up there, because Carpenter knows how to make a film. Problem is you get start watching all the made for TV mini-series, and while some are worse...

Agreed. Didn't have high hopes at all for this, and still a bit wary (trailers and all that shit), but crossing fingers that this might be one of the better adaptations. May even be as good as Christine. At least it looks hands down better then The Dark Tower bullshit, so that's a plus.

Same here. He may not have made anything amazing in recent memory, but at least he was passionate about what he did. Look up Bruiser. One of his other films that's totally B quality, but enjoyable nonetheless...

I'd probably go with The Deep next. Little Heaven got a little disjointed, but still isn't a bad book. Haven't read the one other (can't remember the name) that he has out about some sort of religious dystopia.

Are you reading it or doing the audio version? Either way, it's a pretty grim novel, but the audiobook really elevates a couple of specific scenes that make it even more horrific. Regardless, great narration / performance. You'll enjoy The Deep if you pick it up next. Much more Lovecraftian...

Quick question. If you purchased a bunch of shit from the store (clothing, outfits, etc) in the original version, does any of that transfer over? I'd honestly be pretty pissed if everything I purchased in the original game isn't available or at least given some form of compensation.

Yeah, but the source material was excellent, and that's the big difference. Everything else he's made in the last decade has been pretty lackluster.
