    The Orville

Last night's episode was pretty cool. Kind of an amalgamation of a few TNG episodes. Also seems like this should have been their Halloween episode. One thing that bugs the crap out of me, though, is Alara's forehead and ear prosthetics. They look incredibly fake.

    The Flash

You know, it's laughable at how easily the Flash is defeated at times. Him running laps around something then promptly getting knocked out is getting mighty old.

Honestly, I don't know what you're doing here to cause this. The only time I ever had an issue with git, and this was during the learning phase, is switching to a different branch without committing existing changes first. You'll end up carrying those uncommitted changes over to the branch you...

    Lucifer

For eternal torture scenarios, that's the version I want -- never remembering previous iterations!

Oh, sadly, when I say "regression testing" I mean testing performed manually by the testers. Currently, we have no tests that test functionality between UI widgets and their consumers. We do have a handful of unit tests that test the API, but when it comes to the Angular side of things it's a...

Of course, but you don't regression test for no reason. That's my point, they are constantly touching parts of the system that have nothing to with our current needs which causes us to have to go back and re-test parts of our feature that may be affected. For example: we perform a merge in...

I pop in here every few months to rant. So, here goes: So some of you may remember me complaining about our decision to use Angular 2 as the framework for our Silverlight application re-write. We're about 8 months in from when we had an 'architecture' team hammer out an application framework...

    Nathan For You

Surprisingly touching (and long!) episode. I'm guessing that was the season finale.

    The Orville

All I know is that doctors in the future don't give a shit about the Hippocratic Oath. They'll blow you away without hesitation.

    Lucifer

Uh-huh -- needs to "quiet the voices". Like from all the praying perhaps?

    Star Trek: Discovery

Funny enough I was more pumped about the show when I thought she was the series' captain. It's too bad because I think a TOS-style episodic show with her would've worked quite well.

    The Exorcist

    Holy shit, everyone is gay.
  13. ShakyJake

    Star Trek: Discovery

This show reminds me of Fear the Walking Dead: I don't like any of the characters nor do I even remember their name (except for MICHAEL because it's absurd).

    House of Cards

Yeah, big 'no thanks' to Robin Wright and her neck hole.

    24: Legacy

This is getting out of hand.
  16. ShakyJake

    Star Trek: Discovery

Oh, hell, no. Best groundhog episode among any TV series is, hands-down, Stargate SG1's Window of Opportunity. As for Trek, yes TNG had an excellent episode titled Cause and Effect (episode). Which STD's episode seemed to copy to some extent.

    House of Cards

I made it 3 episodes into the latest season and just deleted it off the hard drive. The shit is boring.

    Stargate: Origins

Michael Shanks, Christopher Judge, and Amanda Tapping haven't been doing shit (I would say Richard Dean too but he got all bloated). Zero reason not to get them back together for some new escapades.

    The Exorcist

    Great show. Just bumpin'

    Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

Finally got to see this this evening and haven't been reading this thread. I had no idea this was a flop at the box office. Anyway, I enjoyed it for the most part. Probably one of the best looking films I'm seen in quite some time (and was that a CGI Rachel? Because that shit looked real...

The Greatest TV Series of All Time

I've been re-watching Three's Company. Probably way before most people's time here, but god damn that was a funny sitcom and definitely in my top 5. Suzanne Somers played the dumb blonde perfectly and holy shit that body. Despite being from the late 70s/early 80s, it holds up pretty well.

    Guild Wars 2

I played a Guardian to level 70 back around the original release and just got bored. I felt like I was mashing buttons without feeling connected to the combat. Totally unlike WoW where I always feel fairly engaged. Is there any particular class that's considered the most fun for PvE? I...

    Star Trek: Discovery

Voyager had some fun episodes: Year of Hell, Timeless (episode), Course: Oblivion (episode), and Deadlock (episode) spring to mind. Oh, and the series finale with Voyager wtfpwn'ing Borg cubes.

Why do they feel the need to upgrade to every release? We've been on Typescript 2.0, I think, for a few months now. Works great. I would not want to use plain ol' JavaScript/ES 6.

    Star Trek: Discovery

I don't know why Netflix, Amazon Studios, or any of the others haven't taken a stab at good scifi space opera.

    Star Trek: Discovery

I don't even understand how it works. So they need the Tardigrade in order to navigate through the universal-spore-system, but how does it even know where they want to go? It's fucking stupid. Who are the idiots that think of this garbage? I totally don't mind techno-babble, but none of this...

    Star Trek: Discovery

What's frustrating is that I've begged friends to watch B5 but they can never make it past the first handful of episodes. I guess the special effects haven't aged well but, honestly, I think the later seasons still look pretty decent.

I just re-watched those last night after mentioning B5 in the 'best series of all time' thread. Music was phenomenal. God I loved that series.

Discovery's intro has grown on me. And, is it just me, or does the ship design have sort of a 70s retro-look?
