The Saints are the lone team to break the Bucs Curse (2009) so I have faith in them to win it all. I would say they didn't take that Bucs game in week 16 of that season seriously but they didn't actually wrap up the #1 seed until the Vikings lost later that day, so they still had plenty to play for.

I just pulled a number out of my ass to give teams an 11 game regular season schedule, no real meaning to it. Hadn't actually checked before now but I guess most teams play a 12 game regular season. So eh yeah, cut it down to 16 team conferences and add another matchup somewhere.

If it's four conferences with two 9-team divisions you can whittle it down to division only + 3 non-conference games. Unfortunately since the balance of power at the college level can swing so much from year to year, planning out who you play out of conference in advance wouldn't really work...

100% agree on everything, would solve all the issues. Though 4 conferences might be a little crowded, would pretty much eliminate any chance of high level non-conference games unless teams are reeeeeeally ballsy.
