My armor has, over time today, built up a red barnacle rot on it. I’d say it’s rust, if it weren’t so thick. Figured it was just cause I did a lot of running around Caelid today and encountered plenty of rot. Soap didn’t cleanse it and it remains even when I swap armor. Any ideas what this is?

The catacombs statue? You go up and examine them and they start a blue wispy line in the direction of a catacombs. It was clearly pointing to a place that would have to be in the wall of the desert.

Many tall bosses can and will hit over your shield. I do think this game's hitboxes are so detailed that yes, a tower shield should help you with this. But depending on the physical trajectory of the hit, they still might hit over it.

I did notice the scaling slightly increasing as it progressed, but my first point (11th, wretch) was still 21-22 HP. Never lower than that.
