The secret to modern classic tanking is that it's actually DPSing, if your guild is competent. Raise that Threat Ceiling.

Also means it works against hexproof players, which can matter in the modern boggles matchup. No Leyline of Sanctity protecting you.

Just make a server for each expansion and let you transfer capped characters "upward" once you max em out on the current "era" and get bored of it, to get that sweet sweet transfer money. Offer half price transfers while laughing up your sleeve at charging 20-30 bucks for an automated process...

On the plus side, the new walkers are actually decently interesting designs. New Niv Mizzet will be a cool deck-building challenge in EDH. Even the new UG legend, despite being another +1/+1 counter dude, has some game to him. Makes cards like Quasiduplicate pretty good rate.

It's largely due to this "Season" having a special mechanic that rewards being able to quickly clear large AOE packs (the ghosts that spawn and swarm the party every X% of clear). Prot Warrior is big dick AOE DPS. They also made Ignore Pain easier to use, making the spec feel a lot better.

And if you went fire the asshole class lead in your raid would just steal all your DPS on the meter by being the one to get the Ignite rolling ;) This thread makes me want to play a mage again despite not touching Ranged DPS in over a decade.
