Depends. Do you have terrible fuel consumption? Possibly due to dirty injectors for treating your truck like a migrant? Do you have neighbors who like to steal a gallon of it in the middle of the night? Is the seal on your gas cap bad potentially allowing liters of it to evap over a months time...

Well, you simply stated truck. You offered no specs as to age, type or fuel pump technology in your post. I can tell you anything up to near 2000 is very risky to run at low fuel tank levels if you value not spending $1000 on something preventable.

You really should rethink your fuel situation. When gas tanks are kept constantly low or allowed to run near dry it allows the fuel pump to pick up all the trash and sludge that builds up over time. Clogging injectors and burning out pumps. Always keep it 1/2 or better full.
